How large is the day1 patch for retail DVD installation?

does someone know how much gb of patches i have to download if i install the game from retail DVD (bought from a local store). my internet connection is pretty slow so i'm curious how long i have to wait.

Pretty big most likely. I personally don't have the exact data as a BETA player, but usually all discs are prepared a month in advance, so you'll likely not have all recent files. The servers have been pretty laggy as well, so you'll likely not be playing on day 1.

Having checked my folder yesterday eve, my installation (all downloaded) is 16.4GB large. Logically, the retail installation should be roughly 16.4GB minus the size of the DVD.
