    Hey there OP
In a 1000 point game bringing eldrad is a too much of a big deal if he dies well.... it's over^^
in a 1000 points, as an eldar you need:
1 farseer on a motojet in a motojet squad with 2 shuriken cannon. the farseers will need the rune of protection and have guide and luck
The pathfinders are a good idea to hold objectives as they have a 2+ cover save which will save your ass, but beware of flame throwers (bane wolf especialy)
You will fight against a lot of marines (chaos, space marines, grey knights) so about 50% of the units have a 3+ save and therefore you should replace your fire prism by 2 reapers with one exarch with the special rocket launcher which ignores cover saves and the perk that makes you reroll the wounds you missed. It will take care of those nasty quadri missile devastator squads hiding in buildings.
as per your troops a good squad of avengers with exarch in a wave serpent will wipe out a squad of terminators with saturation.
Now you will have a choice with two things for your anti tank unit, a wraithlord or a small squad of fire dragons. The wraithlord does have toughness 8 so that's a bitch even for lascannon.

    good luck, for the craftworlds

They dwarf Space Marines almost as much as they dwarf humans, so Angron should be enormous, almost twice their size? There he just looks like a larger one to me.

He IS on a 40mm base...

anyway THIS could get me back into 40k! http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Events/U...12.html#angron

Who'd have thought 20 years ago, us Warhammer geeks would be going through such a renewed period of awesome?
true... I am hoping with the Hh stuff we see some of the loyal Primarchs. Sibor(spelling) makes some incredible proxies.. but more than anything I want a full-fledged (40mm base at least) Leman Russ with his wolves Freki and Geri. I had the old lead ones but they were tiny.

There are a lot of other manufacturers and systems out there with some excellent minis but for a reasonable price. I know a lot of people that only buy Games Workshop stuff and don't even contemplate the notion of buying minis from other companies which I find quite sad, GW seem to have a bit of a stranglehold on the market especially here in the UK and can charge pretty much what they like for something which isn't even that great quality.

Saying all that, they do have some products which are quite good value for money, like the starter box sets, and I do still buy the odd mini from them even if I think it's overpriced if it's a great sculpt.

Also you can get some great deal on ebay.

Really wish the WH40K thread was way more alive...

Anyone know a fun way to build a tyranid army incorporating a winged hive tyrant, hiveguard and lots of termagants for 1k points? oh right, theres only one way... Wish nids were a bit more... diverse.

Where do you live, because Hobby shops SHOULD have people to play with fairly regularly. OH BTW, I don't play eldar anymore :3 switched to Raven Guard with lots and lots of jetpacks

Come to the UK and you will find more than enough people to battle, afterwards we can go to the pub and I can drink you under the table.

I did the chaos army from dark vengeance box set pink, haven't decided a chapter yet but will probably be Emperors children or Flawless host. Just finishing up the Dark Angels now.

The dark vengeance set is great to buy with a friend, I want to start a new dark angels army after finishing a 1200 ish point blood angels army, and my friend wants a chaos army, its an ideal place to start really and the minis look great.

Christmas is coming, think its wrong to *demand* from my wife the Paint set and Dark Vengeance boxset? :P It *is* almost my birthday as well and I did spend 450euros on her birthday...:P

On topic though, give more WH30k stuff! Any word on rules sets for playing games properly in that era? A la stats for the Primarchs, specialist troops (stats for Abaddon and the rest of the council etc), vehicles and armour sets, as to my mind some of it must surely be different rules wise? Especially fighting some of the races that occur in the books like Murder would be great to my mind. Surely GW has plans for this?

Edit: Ignore me, just found it!

Even has Primarch rules! Roll on release here in Belgium!
I agree with Warhammer 30K! Holy crap does the Forge World stuff look damn good.

I could see it being successful if they made it into a fully fledged game. I'm a sucker for horus heresy era stuff.

Same here, I have nearly all Horus Heresy books (except the Ultramarine one, they really are too bland for my taste) and was looking for an excuse to start collecting more mini's. Angron just paved the way for me. I've always been a sucker for Khorne. I only collect and don't play anymore though, but I would still be interrested in what kind of rules they would use for primarchs. Are all characteristics 10's? I think I'll dust off my old paint bottles and see if they haven't yet dried up completely (one can always hope).

First attempt in like 5 years painting a model, bought the dark vengeance set with a friend and a standard starter paint kit.

The right shoulder is a bit messy, I'm going out to buy a much smaller brush tomorow as the one I have at the moment is a tad big, will touch him up with that, still, better outcome than I expected after so much time.

Pretty good for such a long break, going to add some shading to it? Some of the new inks are really good.

Yes I'm planning on getting some of the new inks, as I said only went out and got the starter paint set, but it did have the earth shade in it, so I used that on the bone coloured crest and purity seals, as well as on the metal of the bolter. Will look into getting some more inks to touch them up even more!
