Processor upgrade; video card too? What else?

    Sup. Last thread; I promise.

So here's the deal: I want a 2500k, upgrading from a 955. I also intend on getting a new motherboard (will link at bottom).
Right now in Dalaran, with *everything* maxed I range from 20 to 37 FPS; generally around 20 with a lot of people, portals, or water. I can only imagine what it'd be like in a raid.
I ideally want to overclock the 2500k to 3.5-4 ghz max.
    I also have a gtx 460.
I want to run WoW at a comfortable 60 FPS, except when raiding no less than 40 FPS. (Hell, even sitting around 50 in general is okay with me- even lowering the shadow quality and sun shaft to a tad lower settings, etc)
What will be needed to accomplish this?

    Processor and mobo:

    My current vid card:

So I need different thermal paste, or is stock alright?
    Aftermarket heatsink required?

note: I only have $500 really to spend- I'm trying to spend as little as possible. I have someone who will buy my mobo and 955 for $60, and my mobo, processor, and video card for $150 if I wanted to upgrade even further. So in theory, $550 to $650- but I'd like to spend as little as possible.

    THOUGHTS?

Too bad the bundle deal they had seems to be over, otherwise you would get $40 off that motherboard. With your budget adding a 7870, 7950 or 660 TI is well within reach.

This cooler would also work well for the 2500k

Just going by what you're looking to spend, only half is going to be spent on the motherboard/processor, so updating your graphics card seems logical.

A 7870 would fit right in with money to spare for the cooler.

CPU+motherboard you planned to get is enough to double your FPS in cities/raids, and with turning shadows, multisampling and texture filtering to some moderate low-ish setting you should achieve 50-60fps without changing the graphics card. Depending on what RAM you currently have, you might want to budget in 2x4GB 1600MHz for another $45.

Overclocking with the stock cooler is not recommended, not even a little. Cheap and good third party cooler is Xigmatek Gaia.
