Yeah, those poor, peace-loving native americans... even though one of the main reasons for their destruction was that it was impossible for a non-barbaric civilization to exist next to them because of their fucked-up tribalism and warrior culture that compelled them to constantly attack everyone around them who weren't a member of their tribe. They weren't displaced because they were easy to displace, they were displaced because everybody around were so terrified of them that it was either displace them or leave, and they weren't going to leave after the shit they went through to get to where they were now. And the main reason it was possible to displace them? Because the were too stupidly preoccupied with their own generations-long, life-and-death inter-tribal disputes to unite under one leader.

They almost certainly had a much worse culture than the one of the european settlers, in almost every way. The romancing of them as some sort of naturally-attuned, peace-loving morons is just the stupid backlash to the old "europeans are the best ever" movement that pre-dated the white guilt movement. You'd think that people would've caught up to the backlash being just as wrong as what it was a backlash to by now.

You need to get up to date, man. Human guilt is what's trendy right now. We're raping Gaia, you know. Or so I'm told.

EDIT: Consider even saying we "settled" North America. Uh, dude? There were people already here, with their own civilization, languages, customs, and nations.

How can you settle a land that's already settled? Oh, right; that's not "settling," that's "taking by conquest." Yeah, us white folks definitely were the good guys in this transaction.
