Mana regen/Nether Attunement live vs beta

On the beta, my level 85 mage has around 6k/MP5 mana regen, on new live around 12k/MP5.

    Any ideas why ?

Also - does that entire doubling of mana regen come from Nether Attunement (other dps classes seem to have 6k normally).

    Thanks.

Mana Attunement is a 150% increase to regen, so that would sound about right.

    150% increase would take it to 15k MP5 ?

Comparing my priest to my mage:

    Priest Regen, 4845. 4845*2.5=12112.5
    Mage Regen, 11964.

I believe those are relatively close.

I was comparing a Warlock - because Priests and other healer/dps classes have funky Spirit mechanics.

But maybe a warlock has a smaller regen buff against the base you refer to.

you also gain regen from haste, i believe.

edit: mages do, on which forum you are now on. Warlock forums are some lower.

Nether Attunement is not 150% regen, it scales regen with haste. Someone said that regen is TEMPORARILY doubled at 85, so with 20% haste:

    5% * 100K mana * 2 * 1.2 = 12K mp5

I called it the wrong thing. Edited above. Mana Attunement: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=121039

I can't see that anywhere on my 5.04 Mage ?

I'll have to go with the theory above that it is double for mages temporarily until later (as Beta is half 5.04).

    Test mage (85 gnome) Live:
No clothes no buffs - 10,000 combat regen - 10,268 regen (mana pool is 105k)
Full gear (2114 haste) - 11,650 combat regen - 12,349 regen (mana pool is 107k)

    Test warlock(85 gnome) Live:
No cloths no buffs - 5,000 combat regen - 5000 regen (mana pool is 105k)
Full gear (988 haste) - 5385 combat regen - 5385 regen (mana pool is 107k)

    Random level 89 on beta
Full gear (1935 haste) - 27k mana regen - (mana pool assumed to be 250k or so)

So mages get double for the time being. Checked on beta, it is now double as well (last checked around 1 week ago).

It makes sense since base regen without haste modifiers is 1% per second, if you see the 10k number, it would mean that it's currently at 2% per second.

Also, Kuni confirmed this in another thread

Any ideas where, I searched before posting - but not sure what is going on ?

DOes the doubling stop at 90 ? (I know it goes up to at least 89). ?

Finally, we were worried about mage mana regeneration at level 85. Arcane in particular works better when it has the advantage of the level 90 talents. Once Mists is released, Arcane will be able to perform fine while leveling up and running the occasional dungeon. However, we're in this rare "lame duck" period where players are still actively running what will very soon be lower level content (i.e. Dragon Soul and the 4.3 dungeons). As a temporary measure, we've doubled mage mana regen across the board to 2% per sec up until level 85. This bonus will start scaling down by 20% per level between 85 and 90.
