Are you sure it wasn't a player? I believe rogues can copy the model of the npc they pickpocket through a glyph for 5 mins and then others can get it through potion of illusion.

It was eighter a rogue or a person using a potion of illusion on a rogue after he had picked a giants pocket.

I am pretty sure it was a druid, but yeah, i guess it could be a rogue after all then :/
