Nope, haven't noticed this at all.
Did you perhaps taunt a mob that hadn't been attacked at all then autoswang at it?

Nah I've tried it four times in a row on the boss so far and it taunts every time away from our tank.

why would you dg a boss? Could be a bug where if they are immune to the grip portion, then the taunt goes off, or maybe it's an undocumented feature. Does it do it on everything that is immune?

It appears to work that way; I used it on Hagara trash and no taunt. Could be a bug

Keeps happening to me too. Used it on a few things, including mobs which get pulled to me, it still gives me agro.

Just tested this now.
Hope its a bug and blizzard fix it.
If you DG a mob that's immune to DG it will still act as a taunt even if you had it glyphed.
