Who started what in this discussion is meaningless, those people would be violent no mater what, as we can see from other muslim countries where War doesn't rage. The point is some people and cultures are (genetically) predisposed to violence and no it's not a racist theory, it's just science. Today Japan is one of the most advanced economies in the world and the leader in technological innovation in a lot of area's, and they haven't had a war of any sort since WW2.

The only reason Europe pulled itself out of its radical rut in a timely manner was because of the discovery of America. America provided a massive new source of gold and resources that jump started the European economy, funded the renaissance, helped prove the theories of people like Michelangelo right, and caused a scientific arms race between the main European power players.

The ME didn't have any such thing to pull them out of their rut, and the ME was already more barren of resources than Europe was at the time, so in the religious rut it remained.

That is now changing though.
In the next century I foresee both the ME and Africa becoming much better places.

Honestly It really depends on where you live.

I live in Southern Illinois. Northern US capital of neckbeards and confederate wannabees. Illinois wasn't even with the south during the civil war, yet half the people around here have the stars and bars across their cars back window, or even flying in their yards (neighbor has it flying and his actually has GIT'R DONE written in big gold letters across each side). A lot of them are assholes, and a lot them do meth.

Do I think all white people are racist trailer trash though? Nope. I am white myself, and I certainly am not that, and most of the white people outside of my area are much more logical and normal. Its all about experiences and where you are.
If you took all the kids from all the idiots and raised them right they would turn out good for the most part. The problem is growing up in a bad area where the culture is bad causes a looping cycle.
