    Quick question about upgrade

I asked this question in my old thread but it got pushed back a few pages, so I thought it could do with its own thread.

I ordered new parts for my broken pc, new motherboard, ram, CPU and psu. My friend told me that would I need to reintall windows since I an using my old hdd, is this true? I hope it not because I don't have the cd key or the disk for my windows 7 anymore...

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, only one way to find out. Worst case you could buy a key, or use Windows 8 trial until you can afford one.

Ok thanks, where can I buy just a key from? I guess I could download win7 if I bought a key, but I'm not spending the £70 on a new win7.

Yeah I meant buying Windows 7, unfortunately unless you're a student that's the only way to get Windows 7.
