Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but know you're in the vast minority here, just about everyone who's seen it agrees its mindblowing. About whether or not its original, its debatable, but the quality can't be denied.

Now with that being said, it was executed very well. It's 'pretty' in the way it sticks to a thematic element and story. But there's the catch...the story is a complete rip off of things that have been done hundreds of times, not to mention a cult Musical that basically wrote this game.

Repo, The Genetic Opera was original and amazing. This trailer takes that idea and like 10 other movies to make a video game trailer.
Now I have to ask: How old is that exactly? because the Deus Ex Franchise goes back to 1999, its a very old game, this just happens to be a prequel of the first one, which shares the same theme. Also yes, this game is heavily inspired in Blade Runner and other Cyber-punk classics. At least it did a great job at doing a homage, rather than go copy&paste mode without any substance. If you haven't tried it, don't judge it. There's a reason why all Deus Ex games (Except Invisible Wars maybe) were met with critical acclaim.

At least the GW trailer is honest about how cliche its themes are.
Just because its honest, doesn't mean its good.

It doesn't try to hide that it is calling you to 'revolt' in your gaming.
And that's the main reason why it sucks. Sell the game, not a side. Stop segregating gamers, and stop infusing hate and intolerance. Not to mention how incredibly cocky and arrogant it is to paint themselves as the saviours of a genre. Shouldn't those things be left to the public to decide? I dunno, that's just me thinking.

It's the whole point. Here are beautiful people who you want to be, doing things you want to do.

You know what the scientific term for that is? ADVERTISING.
I have another term for that, ready for it? its BULLSHIT. Its like putting those hot models in bikinis chasing guys on Axe perfume commercials. "Ohh use our perfumes and you will be a chick magnet". Here's the news flash: While having a nice perfume helps, it takes A HELL OF A LOT MORE than just that if you want an army of fangirls fawning over you. Weren't you praising how honest they were before? if you honestly believe playing this game will make you hot, and will make you hipster, and will make you popular, and will make you awesome, tough break buddy, those are things you gotta WORK for, and no game will do those things for you.

I said it once and I'll say it again, THIS is how you make a good live action trailer. For a game that is.

Heh, well its a game I can recommend with flying colors to anyone. Its fun, its challenging, it has a great story, great music, amazing concepts, and a very deep theme ingrained in it. There's talks about a movie, but honestly I dunno how they can pull that off, seeing as the story has a lot of variations depending on how you play.

Actually, this is a story-driven game that allows a lot of freedom in how you wanna do things. But without spoiling anything, no, you don't join the rebels. Purity First is a terrorist organization, and they are your enemies for the first mission of the game. Plus the protagonist himself is augmented, meaning no "purist" rebel would take him. Of course, the endings are something else entirely, and how much you embrace or reject your own cyborg condition is up to you.

This kinda feels like omg 12 milion ppl are playing my game , that why it rocks while urs its 1 milion , that why sucks and ur wrong :P
GW2 : Plzbegentle - Ruins of Surmia EU - Sylvari Engineer
WoW: Vergin - Deathwing EU - Elf Resto Druid (27/05/05 - 02/04/12 Perma-Banned- Unhappy whinning PvP customer - whos begged from 4.1 to get rid of the RNG of Regrowth ... )
It seems ppl have the energy to whine for a game , for not beeing exactly like their <<main>> game , while it dont have a SUB , and they dont have the courage to whine at their Game Master for slacking and producing few PvE content ...

wha? you do realize of course that I was talking about a SINGLE-player game, and one that wasn't even mainstream to begin with. I mean Deus Ex was critically acclaimed but it never became a mainstream hit like Skyrim, or Call of Duty, or Assassin's Creed.

And we weren't discussing the games, we were discussing the trailer of the game (see the link) and most people who've seen it agree that its incredible (regardless of how they feel about the game). He's one of the few who's called it a piece of garbage, and while he has a right to say that, almost nobody will agree to him.

That's all I meant to say, and if you interpreted it otherwise, that's not really my fault =/

I'd like to add that at no point I've said a single piece of slander against GW2, I love this game, and it kills me that I gotta wait till mid-october to play it, possibly even december, I can't wait to finally step into tyria. But while the game is awesome, the trailer STINKS (at least this trailer, their other trailers were much better)

That Deus Ex trailer is awesome, have seen it before. It definitely sparks my interest in the game a billion times more than the GW2 one did :/

I played Deus Ex. I saw the regular trailer first, and I was intrigued. But when I saw the live action trailer, I immediately got the game. And you know what... the live-action trailer was *not* misleading... the game-world presented in the live-action trailer is exactly the same as the one in the game.

Also, that trailer - while some might say it's over the top - definitely got an emotional reaction out of me. It gave me goosebumps. It made me feel like the game, and it's world, had a *meaning*.

What does the GW2 trailer do for me? Absolutely nothing. Well - that's not completely true. It got me to log back into The Secret World. But that was about it.

Sure you can say that the GW2 trailer is not intended for us... but then who the hell is it intended for? It's way too artsy and to meta for the ordinary gamer to get. Does it stir emotion? Excitement? Does it motivate me to find out more, or play, GW2? Well... compared to the Deus Ex live-action trailer - no.

No doubt the people disliking it are wow fanboys as usual...
Unless you enjoy masochism that much, i don't get why you keep posting negative comments about Guild War. Looking at your post only is selfish-negative comment about the game. The video wasn't what i was expecting, but then again there are plenty of videos of gameplay out there on the internet.

Was very disappointed with this trailer, 3/4 of the trailer I was going like wtf is this. They should have used the style and concept of their previous trailers. Also showing the last boss is a big spoiler as well when they have never shown him before in the other trailers. They could have gone with The Shatterer or any other elder dragon for that matter since they all look epic.

Thanks for the critique! Altho I dont understand how posting negative reviews is masochism, anybody who truly wants to discuss GW2 with fans goes to guru or official forums, this is mainly a wow forum with a sub forum so its going to get more negative feedback, I suggest if you dont like it to go to said forums :P 6500 likes 4400 dislikes thats half what MOPS official got with only 11% of the views, so I guess its not just me that dislikes it.

was a little too epic/cheese for my taste, the voiceover stuff was too super cereal. Maybe if it was the same trailer without spoken words
