Hey all.

The priests among you are hopefully all enjoying the new Angelic Feathers talent as much as I am, but I'm having a slight problem with it - I need something to track it with (I play with hidden action bars). My first thought was using PowerAuras, but I haven't actually found a way for it to display the exact amount of charges left on it, i.e. I don't know how to make it show different animations when it's got three charges left, when it's got two, and when it's got one. Since this is (as far as I know) the only spell in the game with a mechanic with charges, I didn't manage to find an option to let it display it like that. So, my question is: What addons would you use to track it? I've googled it, but haven't managed to find any addons of the sort.

Also, this isn't really related to the above and I'm terribly sorry for putting in the same thread, but as far as PowerAuras go, how do I import an icon into it? I've put it in the Custom folder, and used the correct name in the box for it ('Filename.tga') but it just shows a green square. My best guess is that there's something actually wrong with the icon itself?

Dont know about the first part, but there are a few other spells now that work that way; the Monks roll ability, Warriors charge(with talent), etc.

As for the custom file, make sure it is sized correctly. Files have to have dimensions of power 2, meaning it has to be 4x4 pixels, 8x32, 128x64, etc. Most of the space can be transparent if needed but if graphics aren't sized like that it will just show a green square.

I hate to be that guy that recommends a different addon when you specifically mentioned power auras but you did ask what other priests would use to track an ability like angelic feather so I'll chime in with weak auras.

You can get charge information with GetSpellCharges
To display the count on an aura you could do something like:

in a custom text display function on a weak auras icon/text/etc.

I've got a video in the queue that shows the process in detail but it'll probably take a few hours before you can see it.

Also, there are other abilities with the charges mechanic including savage defense, and the warrior charge ability.

There are plenty of skills with charges on them.
I can think of 5 or 6 off the top of my head just from the two classes I play: Paladin and Warrior.

WeakAuras has this function if you're willing to make the switch.

WeakAuras is basically an upgrade version of PowerAura, I suggest you to switch to it.

No, that's a great thing actually. The only reason I mentioned PowerAuras was because that's the only thing that I'm aware of that might be able to do the job. Thank you for all the comments everyone, I'll try my best with WeakAuras and post again if I run into a problem. Also, sorry for being so unaware of the spells with charges, it's just that I don't really play anything that's not a priest :>

I created a cooldown progress bar and 3 feather icons for this in weak auras. Power auras 5.0 RC3 can do the same thing, but I had performance issues with it in large raids and the author hasn't released his updated version in time for MoP release, so I switched to weakauras.

Note that I also made these custom triggers pass the info for # of charges to the aura as the stack count, so if you want text that shows the charges available on your aura, just add %s to your text string. The time until the next charge generates is also passed as duration, and all the other text stuff should work too (%p, %t, %n, etc).
