    V Core on i5 2500k oc

I am overclocked at 4.2GHz on 212 fan.

My V Core 2.180 is that okay?

And in max load on intel burn test i got up to 66 C is this ok?

I just changed the multiplier and didn't touch nothing else in bios.

BTW I tried just changing the multiplier to 45 and it gave me the blue screen on boot so im just trying 4.2 doing prime 95 test right now see if its stable without me touching the cvore volts

I hope you mean 1.28 or 1.18 or something to that effect.

I'd be cautious about going above 1.4v, and especially avoid 1.5v, as then you'll really be putting a rough amount of volts through it. 1.52v is Intel's recommended max, not even sure if they will boot with a higher voltage. O.o

    I am using CPU - Z
And it says CPU VOLTAGE - 2.180
thats all i know i can not find out how to set or change my CPU V Core
In my AsRock Extreme 4 bios.

Like i said all i did was changed my multiplier.

    ---------- Post added 2012-09-12 at 11:59 PM ----------

So should I change it and not even overclock at all without changed my V CORE?

Is 2.180 CPU Volts high and baD?

With 2500's you can usually run anywhere from 4.0-4.5 stable without touching the V-Core, depends on your chip.

If it reads 2.180 that's bad.

Ok i just went into my bios and it says vore right around 1.128 is that good?
1.128 or 1.28 remember that isnt under full load thats with me turning computer off and going into bios!!

How can I change V Core its very complicated

    I have Asrock Z77 Extreme 4....

Do i need to lower Voltage to run at 4.2 im not sure what to do.

On idle it says CPUVoltage 0.952 V

    under load it was
    up to 1.304

You need a higher voltage, but for you i wouldn't recommend overclocking.

Ok Brought it down to 4.0 GHz did Intel Burn Test on max

and it stayed at 1.288 CPU voltage is that safe?

So going down 2 made that big of a difference?

    I have a 212 cooling with air.

Can you help me with adding voltage?

to go up do i just add 10 at a time or what? Adding voltage brings my CPU voltage down?

Just leave it as it is now, not knowing what your doing could end up destroying the MoBo & CPU.

So im pretty much at my max of overclocking without having to touch voltage and its safe right now?

lol there is an auto voltage on these ASROCK boards

just install the software that came with the cd.... auto windows tuner

just change the multiplier untill you feel like some fun!@

  13. #13
It's recommended that you keep it under 1.35v, although some will argue that as much as 1.4v is safe.

Ok I am in the program all i have to do is change my multiplier and then do what in this program?

Does it automatically adjust the CPU Voltage to run safely at my multiplier number?

yeah if you set it too high... it will bluscreen coz lack of voltage... soo moove the multiplier down until it doesnt blue screen

    done

edit: the bluscreen is totally safe... like a fail safe

Is there not a way i can go to like 4.4 its higher than what im at and just add voltage to it? like how much?

because i went to 4.2 and my CPU Voltage went to 2.180 lol under full load

thats fine just dont touch the voltage slider... see how high you can get it (the multiplier)... auto voltage wont burn you up... its controlled

edit: keep an eye on your temps lol =)

yup keep an eye on when the fan speeds up as well.... also dont go much over 80- 90 deg
