    How so?

These days it's pretty much like something like WoW, the only difference is that there's still some actual world PvP. All of the old stuff that made it unique (flight, aerial PvP, sieges) is pretty much gone or inaccessible to most of it's player base now. There are very few flight areas, places like the Abyss are pretty much abandoned so no one really has to worry about aerial PvP anymore, sieges are extremely lopsided and more PvE than PvP. Panasterra is only accessible to officers, not average players.

From what I'm seeing of B&S so far it's looking pretty similar to something like Aion, although I haven't gotten to look into what it's endgame will involve yet.

    Here rivelle

    http://steparu.com/previews/mmorpg/1...out-in-english

Steparu just made a post yesterday about the blade and soul announcement and goes into tdlr of content and such. Aparently he's played the game in every single version hardcore (+10 hour days) till he burned out. It's one of his favorites.

Endgame seems to be dungeons, raids, PvP, questing, collecting. The standard.

I remember me being a lot more excited when it was first announced.... By now it looks incredibly dated and clunky to me... I might be the only one but I don't see this surviving as a p2p mmo

I was not aware it would be f2p! That's good! I can see it doing well as a f2p

Just a slight grain of salt. You need salt in cooking.

    Thanks for the link.

I also have to disagree about the "dated and clunky". The in game world is gorgeous and the character detail is better than anything I've played so far.

I've gotta say, gloves off, this is one of the dumbest things I've read re: MMO payment models. Hoping for a game to not be a subscription is actually hoping that it won't immediately fail. What you've said is akin to advice from an alternate reality like where Carbine's previous management came from.

The parroted response of 'if it's good enough, people will pay a sub for it' is a total fallacy in this era of the market. Launching your game sub only without an overwhelming and profitable niche, like FFXIV, is a death sentence for your game or a cash grab. Pick whichever choice is more favorable to your disposition to the industry.

It's not as simple as "Is it worth the money"...which means we need to toss out all those cheeseburger and beer metaphors into the trash can. It has never been about sheer value. It's about commitment, forced payment, and lack of content/support for that type of implementation. People love the ability to play a game and throw piles of money at it, but they don't like being tied to just another subscription like their internet bill, cell phone bill, etc.

While many other markets move to subscription and contractual models, people more and more do NOT want that in their gaming space. This has been going on since F2P games started becoming big, which has been going on for 5 years min up to the last decade. This isn't 2004. Subscription only doesn't cut it.

Over time I've come to prefer the F2P model for games. You can always pay for a "premium" membership per month for extras if you really want to, and you can choose the specific things you want from the cash shop. You can also take breaks whenever you want to without feeling penalized for wasting away time you paid for, or needing to pay again just to access it when you want to log on again.

How anyone could say B&S looks dated is beyond me. Sure, it's a few years old by now, but it's still one of the best looking MMO's on the market by far.

K guys don't kill me I was just expressing MY opinion... Just thought the whole thing with the combos that lock you mid air for several seconds seemed a bit clunky

wow they'll release the uncensored version into the west ? That was unexpected.

Played a bit on the russian server. And even if I was hyped when announced, I finally found it extremly bland.

In the Western version, nothing. There were concerns that some of the outfits, specifically on the Lyn, would be altered similar to what happened with TERA when it was Westernized.

Not sure how it's unexpected that the west did not get censored. We over sexualize fucking everything here.

It was much more than that.

In china they completely covered the bare skin on many outfit for all races with ugly black undersuits, they also completely removed jiggle physics, made the graphics slightly worse, and a few other things.

That is what people were scared of.

Here's a video on small taste of what china did:
