I figured we could open a thread for inbetween discussions about the games. This isn't intended to be a signup thread, just talking.

That said, I'm done with modding for a bit. I don't know what Foxxi will do. She might continue to mod, or even play or help mod or quit altogether, I have no idea. Me, I plan on playing a bit. Anyone who wants to take up the reigns for modding can ask and I'll give them access to the mod forums on the other forum for the templates and such.

Oh, on the topic of the games and where they'll be played; we're more than likely coming back to mmo-c for future games but there might be an occasional game played on the other forum for special rules, who knows /shrug

Well, we tried our own forums and it was meh, I'd rather not try something else, even if it has a bunch of people who would play. I don't like random people in large amounts :\

Yeah, I prefer the anonymity and mod control of a new forum, but, I would rather have players - and active players at that.

If people prefer MMOC we can stay here. If everyone wants to NK Lysah on night one then we can have mods just keep giving me the bomb role.

Kind of glad the game is returning here. Though that game really got motoring towards the end despite its slow start.

That's correct. I think people are talking about an earlier game with Lysah being killed N2.

I think it'll be a good idea to move the game back here to MMO-C, at least for one game and later once in a while. It'll make new people see it and we can get in some new people.

About the traitor role that was discussed a bit in a few threads.

I don't think the traitor role needs to be modified a lot. With the current recruitment possibilities for the traitor the win/loss condition for the traitor is where it should be. If we want to change so that the traitor actually have to be recruited to win, then we also need to change so that it's a higher chance for the traitor to become recruited, or they'll end up having a very low chance of winning. I think I did the calc a few games back that the chance of the traitor having been recruited by being attacked by mafia is roughly 40%, without counting in the risk of being lynched or killed by SK before that day. The chance depends on the number of players and mafia teams, but it won't go high enough.

Bombs also play a part. As both bombs and traitors are "seeking" a hit by the mafia they have rather equal play style. If there are as many bombs as traitors, it's not a net gain for mafia to try to hit the traitor and if it's more bombs than traitors, it's a net loss. Look at this game, Dwarf thought Lelly was traitor but Lelly was a bomb.

Trying to seek out the GF has the downside of being able to get killed by hitting the cop at an equal chance. And hitting the cop means instant loss, while hitting the GF means a roughly 50/50 to win.

A few things how to solve this.
The traitor wins and lose with the mafia, no matter if converted, lynched before conversion, killed by SK etc. An unconverted traitor is basicly an investigation immune mafia, that hasn't got access to chat and cannot commit murder. Traitor can seek out GF or get hit by mafia to get recruited. This idea will not work as well on MMO-C as another forum, due to PM-ing.

The traitor isn't killed when seeking out cop (but perhaps cop gets information that he was sought out and perhaps by whom but the traitor is ignorant) or gets killed by gets win condition with mafia instead of instant-loss. Traitor wins with the mafia if converted or hit the cop, loss if unconverted.

The GF may also in addition seek out the traitor, both GF and cop dies in an epic gun battle if the GF seeks out the cop. Traitor wins with the mafia if converted, loss if unconverted.

If there's a town-win or not at 5 townies vs 1 traitor and 0 mafia is up for debate in each of the cases.

GF seeking out traitors is an option in WC3, if he picks the cop their roles are revealed to each other.

I was Andree Dangelo game one and lasted to the very end. I was then Arcanine and lived for the win. The first game I was impersonated and someone ate a night kill as VT, the second game Lelly argued with me and drew a night kill as a bomb.
