This is doing my head in now. Is the wiggly worm bit (after the intro) a piece of commercially available software? If so, what is it?

First thing that comes to mind is that it's a visualization plugin of some mp3 player.

It's a customized visualization the producers made by themselves, you would have to ask them to get it.
