League of Legends playable on a Mac?

Hi everyone. I have a friend who would like to play with me on LoL, but he owns a Mac. I understand that there is no Mac client, but can it be run through CrossOver? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you for any information in advance.

You can play LoL on a mac, you just need to run the mac client. Search iLoL in google, a website called boompje.net has a client that works. I play LoL all the time on my macbook pro this way no problems.
PS. Whenever there are new patches there are often bugs with iLoL, but if you go on boompje.net and go to the forums they almost instantly have solutions to any bugs.

About 6-8 months ago was when the Mac beta was cancelled. Essentially, there was an underground release of a "Mac Beta" that I acquired from a friend last year. It was less of a Beta, and more of an actual client, that worked exactly like the PC one, same servers, etc. However, Riot cancelled this support for this system about 6-8 months ago, and offered current users a refund on their Riot points, or the option to keep their account in tact for PC use. I chose to get the refund, but having just traded in for a PC this week, I was elated to discover that they simply didn't take anything off of my account, so I got free monies! Woot!

OT: I only ever saw a few people get it to work on Bootcamp, and when they did, it was with terrible fps and performance. I suggest not even trying to be honest. The payout of 4 fps in LoL is not worth the headache of trying to get it to run in the first place, and that's if you even succeed. Just play DotA 2 on Steam on Mac until Riot can restore functionality.

EDIT: Try that iLol thing. Never heard of it. I was using the Riot release Mac client.

iLoL is your best bet at the moment, and works very stable. The only thing you need to be aware of, is that you need to set your champion model graphics low so that the champions won't be invisible.

Bootcamp is Windows. There's no emulator or anything like that involved, so if you're getting bad FPS in bootcamp it's cos you've got an issue with your computer, windows or game install.

Parallels or VMWare or the other virtualisation software could well cause issues, but provided you're prepared to mess around with setting up a completely separate windows install & rebooting when you want to play, bootcamp will work as well as a generic PC with your mac's hardware specs would. It's just not particularly convenient due to the constant rebooting between OS's.

Macworld has a general overview on setting up bootcamp. You'll need a copy of windows (obviously).
