Don't know if this is typical, and I'll admit I'm pretty much a casual player (with months of hardcore play interspersed).
During the time that I am away from the game, when I come back I am utterly confused by my rotation. Takes me awhile to get back into the grove of things. Not sure if that is typical or if I'm just a noob.![]()
Dunno if anyone can make a judgement call about that? 10 million people from 5 continents and I have met maybe 1000 on my server and later in LFD and LFRaid of which I talked to maybe..50?
I wouldn't dare characterize anyone on the basis of meeting them in game, but I met 15 of my guildies in a RL guildmeeting. They were as diverse and as nice as any normal person one happens to meet. On one end was a tatooed heavy metal dude, on the other end a judge. In the middle me with wife and kids...

yeah i dont think there really is one. i have played since vanilla and people find out i play and they are like really?!
No such thing as a typical WOW player in my experience. I have met Doctors, teachers, lawyers, housewives, smart mouthed tough guys of all ages. Thats the joy of an MMO, you never know who you will meet next.
Working abroad for a few months, so I may be late in replying to PMs, though they are very welcome indeed.
there's no typical MMORPG player ? there's millions of ppl on wow
The typical WOW player has a World of Warcraft account. That's basically all you can generalize. At it's peak it had 12 million players. Half from China, I believe. I live in Hawaii. Father of 2 children. Married for 3 years now. Play maybe 4 days a week for 5 hours? Even at the most basic example, I don't think there is a large portion of players that are typically like me nor am I like others.
Closer to the typical WoW player than it has any right to be:

An idéa of a typical wow player picture (casual wise)
I don't have time to raid and play 5 hours per day!
*some kind of typical wow player meme picture.*
Stands around in orgrimmar for 8 hours.
Badum tss.
If you die you die but if you don't die you still die.
Someone who complains that the game is so bad yet has played it for 5 years?

This!
OT:
I dont think that there is a "Typical" wow player. Like others posted before. There are judges, teachers and many others playing the game... So its very hard to find a typical player.
Except, you can most likely tell when you see a Hunter or DK that the chances of that player being a child/young Teen in RL are 99.9%![]()
Nowadays: "I killed 5 boars in front of orgrimmar with the help of the guards, where are my EPIX!!!"
