MOP - What ranks would you rate boomkins in PVE/PVP?

At level 90 with average gear in heroics/raids, what would you rate them?

From 1-10 in PVP/PVE? Are they amazing now when it comes to damage in PVE and are they doing greatly or still at the bottom even with the new mobility in PVP?

    Please rate them from 1-10.

From my experience everything is prone to change at anytime. To give them a rating before MOP is live is a little premature, play what you find fun rather than a flavour of the month class.

any class can be good if you know how to play them, and any class is god aweful if the person is clueless

ofc lets act like everything is fine and pretend class imbalances have never existed or played any major role in pve or pvp

Well, in terms of PVE damage they seem to be at the same place single target as before, but with worse AOE (nerfed shrooms) making them worse overall.

Well if ther is only 1 target to nuke ther are in the middle of the board even lower but if there is more targets to nuke ther become extrymly good , so on 3v3 5v5 and RBG and all multi target fight Boomkin will be very hight if even not OP, jsut DoT all and spam Instant SS

Moonkins are great and a good moonkin will have a very easy time finding a a raiding spot. Pvp-wise all druid specs will be ridiculous in pvp for at least the first season.

a solid seven for both pve and pvp

still lacking any hard defensive cooldowns but crazy good mobility. we need to multidot for competitive pve damage, but in the right encounters we'll be like woah

Our dots seem to be nerfed, compared to what we had before the patch. Dunno if this is fixed at 90, however, while sunfire used to crit for around 12k, now it does around 8k. PvPwise I will always go Feral over Balance. Now that Disentanglement is back, I had a hell of fun ripping frost mages to shreds. Payback time baby!!! \m/

Boomkins lost insect swarm, so moonfire+sunfire multidotting will not be enough in 3v3 5v5 to cause any real threat to your opponents, youll have to rely more on direct casting.

Fail to see what losing insect swarm has to do with anything? It was a buff. Now we have sunfire instead, which does the same damage (as the nerfed IS) but allows for more starsurge procs.

At 90, incarnation + celestial alignment + natures vigil / starfall, starfall, starfall 5 x double dots, CHAAAAIIIIIINNNN SS = gg. Regardless of if they're hugged or spread, I doubt any class will match boomkins aoe burst (20-30secs every 3mins).

Our single target is a lot better. Our AoE is better. (People must be doing it wrong, because I do more ae damage than I used to)
In Dragon Soul, at 85, I'm peaking between 80 and 90k at the start of a fight.
During Beta testing, at 90, among similar skill level players, I was top 5 consistantly, often topping.
    This is all without DTR.

That's funny, because multidotting in 3v3 = shooting stars is hardly ever not active. You have dots rolling. You have starsurges flying everywhere. You have 3 major CDs to stack, and CA allows both dots to be cast at the same time. So you can have 3 targets fully dotted in a couple GCDs.

I worry now... about future nerfs cos I feel boomkins are a bit OP, especially in a (spread)multi target fights

I disagree. Our single target damage right now, at 90, with what is available to us gear-wise is appalling. Wrath hits for upwards of 12-20k on mobs with 400k HP. Starfire isn't much better. Only Starsurge seems realistically potent.

Im glad im not the only one who noticed this, Im new to Boom having played feral all my druid career, I just hate seeing such small numbers from wrath and starfire.

I would have to put booms at a 3 dps wise. I find them to be lacking damage. I switched from playing an ele shaman to fill my guild's vacant boom slot and am quite depressed at the lack of damage. my regular wrath's ht for 16k-20k and on crit hit for maybe 40 if im lucky. Starfire seems to hit for 22k-25k and crit for about 60k-70k. When I am in dungeon groups I am frequently being out dps'd by my feral counterparts by a significant margin.

Boomkin seems crap at the moment, looking at heroic dungeon dps. Hopefully it gets better with better gear gems & enchants & correct reforges.

PvE raiding at 90 in proper gear, a fat 8.If it's gonna be anything like beta raiding that is.
