The article reads like any other GW2 > WoW article... Play what you like, complain less about what you don't like (and obviously no longer play)
So funny that common sense is anything but common....

If you love / enjoy WoW in its current state, don't bother with my signature...with all due respect, its not for you. (note: I am happy and respectful though, of your enthrallment with WoW... if not a little envious!)

I didn't read all 32 pages of the thread, but I have to agree that there are some small, convenience features that I miss after coming back from other mmos, such as:
1 - Automatically adding new quests to your tracked - why should I have to go to a menu and click them in order for them to show up?
2 - Lack of a customizable UI - I'm playing in 1080p for the first time, and I would like to upscale my ability icons. Bartender fixed this, but would be nice not to have to download a mod to do so.
These aren't deal breakers, but would be nice enhancements.
Also, I do sort of missed the voiced story scenes from SWTOR and GW2, although I do appreciate what Blizzard is doing to overcome this with their story-telling (like the scenes with Rell, Amber, and Sully in the Jinyu village). I also like how your character has begun to evolve from the nameless grunt in the earlier expansions to "Northrend Veteran" in Cata and "Cataclysm Hero" in Mists - we are finally making a name for ourselves!

I get what they are saying, but seriously to overhaul its combat mechanics is silly. I mean unless the majority of the 9 million people playing are just coming into WoW:MoP, you have a large amount of people use to this playing style WoW has had (I know the article doesn't state this, but I do feel like it saying it should think about it). Yes I played GW2 and went to play WoW for that 1 free week and I didn't have any problems switching. I don't play WoW for a GW2 experience and I don't play GW2 for a WoW experience. I still enjoy WoW's combat system. Both are fun games.
The same kind of dodging is in WoW, just not with a roll. Even in the third MOP quest horde side you fight cannoneers that put little red circles on the ground to mark the area they are targeting and you have 2-3 seconds to get out of there.
It´s exactly the same as in GW2, just without the roll animation.
If, on page 1 of an MoP article/review, you manage to:
1. Mention that you never truly played WoW, nor really care much for it.
2. Mention Guild Wars 2 in about every paragraph.
3. Complain that WoW is WoW and not more Guilld Wars 2
4. Spend an entire paragraph of criticism about a feature that is, so-called, lacking but has been in the game, standard, for about 4 years.
Then you're simply biased and not worth reading,
You can't spend a few hours on the 4th expansion of an 8-year old game, with hardly any prior first-hand experience, and summarize by claiming the game is showing its age, it's not improving compared to competitors and what not. It's just not credible writing.

Actually the fact she didn't even know the SHIFT functionality to compare things is baffling.
My bet is she played 3 hours in total for the last 4 years...
the fact this kind of posts is allowed on their site shows a complete lack of quality control.
I would advice ANYONE to make a complaint against that site. The woman (author) makes a fool out of herself.
If you know how Kotaku works you wouldn't get as upset about the article of one author. Their articles pretty much work on blog basis so if you know how to treat blogs then you know how to treat Kotaku. For the record among the tags were #guild-wars-2 and #slam - which usually should have given the reader the hint where the author was coming from. I read it and immediately put it down as biased article and...dismissed it. No filing of complaint or lawsuit, no anathemization, nothing.
There's authors who are more positive about it biased as well but again that's the way the site works. To put more perspective into it consider that they are slamming other games/gadgets etc. as well.
WoW: Crowcloak (Druid) @ Sylvanas EU (casual)
GW2: Siqqa (Engineer) + Basil Charroktonos (Warrior) @ Piken Square EU (casual...honestly)
