Step one: use one of the portals that exit lion's arch into the world.
    Step two: play.

Seriously, I'm far from playing the game hardcore in PvE side due to messing around in WvW and sPvP and my ALT is lvl60. And I'm WAAAAAAAAAY behind the "hardcores" in that I only have the bare necessities on main.

to be able to 100% the map in a week. (We had a guild member do it in about 100 hours I think it was) is lacking content.
This is ridiculous lol. If you rushed through the game that fast then congrats you missed the entire point of this game.

No I am not bored I will just now ding 80 tonight. I have about half a lvl to knock out tonight. I only have around 38% map completion so there is a TON of content left to explore, gear to work on explorable modes to do, jumping puzzles. Hell I have a ton still left to look forward to and I couldn't be happier.

I think these kind of players get bored quickly in general. They rush through content to clear it, when they have, there's nothing else to do, but farm gear, which is generally boring.

I remember when we cleared bt, no one except a rogue and a few casters wanted to do it. No, wait I'm wrong, they'd rather sit out the whole raid and join us on illidan. Honestly, I couldn't blame them so the rule I set was nothing is mandatory, but no full raid is no loot from illidan.

Same for gruuls and the dst, etc... etc...

What we did was extremely boring, but we had to put up with it to be 'the best on the server'. When I look back at it, it was stupid, even if I was just a kid.

So true. It's funny how we've come to the point that we can loosely define "hardcore MMO player" as "a player who gets bored of MMOs".

Congratulations, you won the game. Now you can go play TL2, BL2 and soon XCOM. Also there are tons of other single-player games for you to play. Because that's what GW2 is, right?

So you cleared all the single player content, do you want a medal? (infact I think the game does give you medals...)

What's the point of this thread? I could say the exact same thing when I was playing WoW. Heroic Rag dead, this game's got so little content.

Worth noting that he's talking about the person who did just that. Your template answer is rather funny in this regard. "So I did everything" "Yeah, you should go do everything, like I'm doing right now. I'm totally happy with the fact that I have so much of everything ahead of me".

Heck, some people could take it as you taunting him.

I'm actually sort of old. Married, have a household, tend to children during the day, etc.

But I'll take the compliment that you think I am young.

    Also:

    Obviously there's nothing to do pve-wise if you;

    - Don't like dungeons
    - Don't like doing an even here and there
    - Don't like crafting
    - Don't like doing your personal story
    - Don't like exploring
The highlighted ones are pretty finite. At least for the OP. He already has 100% world too.

Crafting and personal story have absolute ends. Dungeons as well unless you are interested in farming a set.

Sad thing is that 3-5 years ago I'd probably do the same thing as OP did including getting out of my way to grab that legendary ASAP. Right now that is someting I wouldnt have time and motivation to do. GW2 is a perfect MMO for me, where it doesnt matter if I log in for 10 minutes or 10 hours - I still have fun and I wont get left behind. Also after about 150 hours played I have only about 60% of the world completed, spent maybe 4 hours in WvW and about 1 hour in sPvP and did two story Dungeons. There is still plenty for me to do, see and enjoy for months to come.

Done all the dungeons story and most of the explorables missing like 3 or 4. All that is really left is going for a legendary which I will not do since it literally will take 2000-3000 hours to obtain the karma and mats necessary. Is anyone else getting bored of the game? Yea I no lifed it and have like 300+ hours played but still it is a mmo and all I feel like there is to do is grind for armor that has the same stats as craftable armor and looks questionably better or going for a legendary that literally is only a skin modification for a weapon.

So again am I the only one who is bored and doesn't feel like it is a long lasting MMO?
You are far from the only one that feel that, have not logged on for several days and doubt I ever will again, even when they release new "content" or want me to buy an expansion, after this I'd rather put my money elsewhere.

Looking at the number of hours you have spent online. 300, thats after 4 weeks so you spent 150 after 2 weeks to get to level 80 or 10 hours per day. Thats quite a lot of play and is certainly not "relaxed".

I reccomend getting a significant other and a job, then you will be greatful for any chance to play an mmo you get regardless of game.

Personally if I were to play any game as much as you just did, I'd be so bored. I play both GW2, WoW, but I also play a ton of other games. I also have a job, so my gaming is limited to after work and weekends. You definitely need to find other hobbies.

still love it. though im playing some gw2 mainly, but also bf3. during a free day i can switch between these games 5-6 times. few hours on each game each time

    @OP

Gonna give you the same response as I gave the other guy. GW2 was not made to support people who blast through everything and then wait for more. It never was and never will be. But the advantage here is that if you are bored, you're not beholden to a subscription fee, you're not tied into a gear treadmill. You can stop playing and wait for the next content patch with new shinies and goodies and come right back to it and not miss a beat. In that regard GW2 is unique. My only suggestion is when that does happen...take your time.

This is the issue. For him, it's "really relaxed", because for him, "hardcore" is 16+ hours/day. I know, I was "that guy" for a year or so once. With a job and a wife I actually care about and like, and real-life friends, and hobbies and interests beyond a single MMO, I am lucky to get 3-4 hours/day to play, at the outside. When I didn't have any of those things (a scary time, in retrospect), I too felt like playing "only" 10 hours/day was "relaxed". I mean, by jove, at 10 hours/day, I could shop, wash clothes, go out and so on, almost like I was a real person!

The only way I stayed interested in games was the social aspect and long-term grind-y stuff. If neither was present (i.e. friends/guildies not playing in an organised way), I burned out rapidly. If they were, unless it was DAoC, I burned out in 2-4 months. DAoC was special due to RvR and exceptionally rapid expansion output (1/year AND big content patches like New Frontiers and Foundations), new server types, and so on. Oddly enough GW2 feels more like DAoC than the others in a lot of ways.

What in the world are you talking about?

I was speaking in general to those that rush to "finish" clearing the whole world in a week. Grats I guess but its definately counter to the game design. If you did awesome for you but dont bitch that your now bored when you over extended yourself and played too much. No game will hold up to that. I on the other hand took a different approach to this game than I have all previous MMO's and went the slow and steady smell the roses approach and its been great.

My point is of course your bored if you smashed 100's of hours into it and did all you could do in a couple of weeks. Who wouldn't get sick of doing just about anything after doing it that much.

I vote perma bans for these types of baiting threads in the future, I'm pretty sick of them and I know I'm not alone, this forum is absolutely riddled with them and some tougher moderation is needed in my opinion.
    When in doubt, mumble...

Forum moderation doesn't really work like that, to be honest. Perma-bans are almost never given unless it's a gold/advert spammer or IP evade. Some other exceptions but that's basically the most common thing to be perma-banned for.

Also. The actual FAQ explains how infractions and bans work. Even then users can appeal their ban where the total infractions are reviewed by all the moderators & admins of MMO-C.

Lastly, there is nothing flamebait-y in this topic's OP or premise. People are allowed to have different opinions, negative opinions or express their views on the game.

    Just a bit of transparency.

I'm still having fun. Rerolling other characters has actually been enjoyable for me, even after getting 100% completion on my warrior. Just learning new skillsets and unlocking new abilities is fun, even if I already know all of the events. The personal stories are all very interesting as well.
