Need a *small* CPU fan for my 17 930

So it was time for a new CPU fan, unfortunately I didn't realize how severely limited for space I was until I ordered one. The space in the case is fine, but I have this ultra crap motherboard that has components placed right around the processor, making a baseplate out of the question and basically forcing me to have a smaller cooling unit.

Ok, this is where you guys come in. I tried looking around but I really can't tell what I'm looking at mostly due to complete inexperience. I need a new CPU cooling unit for my computer but it's got to be something small, without a baseplate that fits right down on the plate above the processor. My factory unit is about shot. Anything else you need to know, feel free to ask. 550W Power supply if that's important. Very little hardware experience, personally.

    Thanks.

See if you can source a closed loop liquid cooler like Corsair H60/70 or Antec Kuhler H2O They should fit most motherboards and do a pretty decent job cooling.

I'm not even sure how to find out its exact model but it was some crap HP Pavillion premade. I've been salvaging it into something workable and it's unfortunately gunna stay that way until tax returns next year haha.

Now that looks solid. I'm gunna look a little more into the size of the plate needed for installation but I think this might actually work great.

    Thanks for the help guys.

It's starting to make extremely annoying "clicking" contact noises during gameplay and my temps are simply getting much higher than they were a few months ago. I removed it, cleaned it thoroughly and applied new thermal paste. Helped a little. My core temps while playing games is 65+ and I've been told that's a little high.
