As I said above, would you begrudge a soldier if he shot a guy (and by guy, I mean enemy combatant) with AP rounds, if those were the only things in easy reach? I hope for humanity most wouldn't.

If I had to choose between life or death, and the difference was AP rounds, I would shoot the crap out of someone with an AP round. I'm just saying that's not in the rules =P

The point is, with lighter ammunition, people won't die as fast, an error can be fixed with the help of a medic.
I don't know much, but I know that lighter ammunition will kill slower, and cause more pain.
You don't need tank piercing rounds to defend your home from a burglar/have fun at a range.

Again, talking military applications. While it might be a bit easier to fix, it's not a cut and dry science.

He's thinking military law. Honestly, to me, dead is dead. Doesn't matter too much if you blow someone's head off with a hollowpoint, or ball ammunition. The target wouldn't care too much after that.

I'll have you know if I were killed by ball ammunition, I would be very upset.
