Not to sound like a smart-ass, but it's just when people meet up. In this case, people who may or may not have met before, and are meeting under the circumstances of a shared interest.

So, in that effect, you could say it's like going to a pool hall and making friends.

Today I had to help a person take a TV out to their car.

They told me to get my coat because they didn't want me to catch a cold. I don't think a customer has ever had that much concern for me before. That guy was nice.

You're lucky. Out of all the carry-outs I ever did, the only thing we ever got was, "hey look, this 70 inch TV isn't gonna fit into that cardboard box you call a car"
