Who else thinks this NPC is the most annoying-sounding creature in the game? With the abysmally low drop rate of turtle flanks and the sheer amount of time spent with him...hearing his constant "rachhhghghghhcchh" and "graghghghghhh" drove me nuts.
Who else felt the same way?

Oh god yes. The only thing I found as annoying as him was Spindrel, the spider mount in Rift, which makes this chittering noise every few seconds while you ride him. Kovok takes the cake though.
WoW: Retired Prot Warrior 11/2012, currently playing a Warlock (90 @ 4/26/13) and having some fun in a casual style.
RIFT: Retired 5/2013 due to lack of content and not having guilds able to do the 20-mans.
Also playing The Secret World and having fun slowly in that.

Im waiting for an addon that /ignores his emotes.
Rule of Thumb: If the healer's HPS is higher than your DPS, you're doing it wrong.

I was getting peeved by his chittering within five minutes of doing the quests involving him. It's like the burbling of a Water Elemental, but somehow worse - the sound just grates on your teeth. And even worse is partying with a friend when both of you have him tagging along.
On a completely unrelated side note, Darsithis' new blue label (rare quality!) and chibi penguin avatar give rise to ... urges ... in me. An almost irresistible urge to beat the shit out of him, stuff him in a box, enslave him, and force him to fight to the death against other hapless pets in the wild.

After doing that drop quest, then the one after where you need Shark Blood, Clatter Tails, and Starfish, then I completely gave up on questing in Dread Wastes. Blizzards quest design has been horrible this expansion when related to drop quests. I wouldn't mind if i had to farm for "Pristine Clatter Tails" or "in-tact eel serpent heads" in Karasang Wilds if it was just worded that way in the quest. Nothing bothers me more than having to farm for an item you think EVERY creature should drop, like eel heads.

I did see one of the sound options today that turns off pet idle sounds. Does that work on this one?
