I'm butthurt? Because I've seen the same thread a billion times? You would have known if you did a simple search. Most of the things you mentioned AREN'T EVEN VANILLA SPECIFIC. I got my Benediction in WotLK, does that mean I remember Vanilla?

I didn't flame anyone, I simply said that none of your "memories" prove that you played vanilla. It's facts that anyone knows by now. Because of, omg, threads like these.

If you told me a story on the other hand, about some specific experience or some grind, I'd respected your thread and story. This is just a list of features, that again, most were still there until Cata.

Dunno if it was mentioned before, but I know I played vanilla and one would loose his/her pvp rank if you did not keep up with pvp. I got to rank 7 to get the blue caster boots for my priest, because the ones from ubrs wouldn't drop. Than at some point I slacked with pvp and I lost my rank, which meant I could no longer wear the rank 7 boots and raided molten core on my bare feet

You know you played vanilla if you at least once have spend >5 hours in Stratholme/Lbrs/BRD/UBRS.

when you could not use FP further than the next town. there was no auto fly on FP.

40min strat was considered a fast instance.

When the mount not the riding skill cost more gold. (changed to stop gold transfers)
When you slightly panicked every time you looted a mob. (pick-up bug)
When jumping and spinning meant climbing any wall.

You know you played beta when.... everyone had a party in Ironforge as the servers came down before launch.

Just to be a pedantic jerk but originally epic riding was ~90g whilst the mounts were expensive. In a patch blizz switched this and scores of players were kicking themselves.

Did the Unstoppable Force knock you down or just back? I remember the Earthshaker definitely knocked you down.

You're a vanilla player if you hear the word Maraudon and a tiny part of your brain whispers 'oh that new instance'.
Or if you ever instantly capped an AV flag with a Hand of Edward the Odd.

You played Vanilla as a priest when you had fun mcing people in Blackrock into the Lava
You played Vanilla as a priest when you farmed Eye of Shadow in the Darkwhisper Gorge (or got it from Kazzak/AH)
You played Vanilla when you farmed Elemental Fire in Arathi
