I've created a thread on the Official D3 forums here. I'd like people to take a look and contribute if they agree.
Here's my post and a follow-up post.
I'm a slow Meteor Wizard. I have 24% Move Speed, but that is slow. Some of these really good guys on Diablo 3 LFG forums zoom across the map, only stopping to pick up legendaries. So I'm somewhat relegated to Public Games, where people are more apt not to stray off into the distance, being their own one-man wrecking crew, while the rest of us are picking up those Sovereign Vambraces.
And say you don't get one of those guys. Maybe I like being able to pick up a game, do a run, then stop for a while maybe. Or maybe I feel like another run, in which case I can just click a button and BAM, another run!
Monster Power is undeniably something I am going to want to participate in, but I'm disheartened greatly by the announcement that I will not be able to enjoy MP in Public Games. I'm not sure whether Blizzard doesn't understand that making friends with strangers on the Internet, coordinating timezones/availability, juggling the needs and wants of everyone in the group, etc. etc. etc is a pain in the !@#, or the technical aspects are simply too great to overcome, in addition to the complications associated with people showing up at MP levels they don't belong in.
Please reconsider, Blizzard, allowing MP in Public Games. I know it involves coding and magic and goblins are somehow involved, but please make it happen!
This is kind of a serious blow for me. I've already dumped $300 gross into my Wizard, so I'm not going to drop the game like I was going to just before 1.04 brought the game back from the grave, for me.
Like I said, this is a serious problem for me, and I'm not sure how I'm going to reconcile not playing MP like everyone else because I don't have friends who play Diablo 3. It feels like I'm going to really miss out on a cool new feature, and that bothers me a great deal. We aren't talking about vanity pets in WoW, we're talking about real, quantifiable advantages in gameplay.
Finding three other guys who aren't douchebags, and who are right where they should be in terms of gear, in parity with everyone else at the exact MP everyone agrees on, and who can be on at the right times, and stop the farming when someone wants to stop, pick it back up when people are ready to go again... It's ridiculous.
I don't care about attention or views or what the hell ever, I just hope others are with me on this, and maybe if enough people are vocal, we can persuade Blizzard that this is a worthy effort.
