It's not a real dps profession. The benefit you get compared to others (jc etc) is marginal.

Engineering and tailoring are the two bursty DPS professions, sorry. Herbalism is for alts.

The haste generally amounts to about 5% haste at max level, so it really isnt much. Can be used in conjuction with trinkets/pots for maybe 1 extra spellcast, but you can get better burst going Tailor/Engineering, and better sustained going BS/Alchemy.
