What ARE the most generally accepted interests on the internet?

This is a question that has bugged me for a long time. Ever since I started to watch anime back before it was "ok". Whether your an otaku a furry, brony, or trekkie, etc. There are many different subcultures that may not fly with a large group of people.

Certain video-games and films are taboo when compared to others. Lets take Namco's Tales of.... series and compare it to say CoD. Or the positive comments on GW2 where as WoW gets ridiculed for being an industry destroyer.

It seems like there is a generic type of lifestyle that the internet fully accepts. Is this true? And if so what is the most accepted form of living on the internet and mainstream society? Which style gets the least amount of hate comments?

Or is this all apparent with every single interest group and lifestyle

Cosplay seems to be something most of the "geek"-community can get behind. Steampunk is another.
But that doesn't really answer your question. I think "nerd" or "geek"-community has watered down somewhat, to the point that find a common interest is hard. Maybe space-travel and science of all kinds.

The internet is a giant bandwagon. Whatever the new emerging trend is, the rest of the internet will jump on it without question or reason, then once that trend is too mainstream, everyone hates it instantly.

The funny thing is you'd expect me to have to deal with more ridicule IRL for liking different things from the norm. However this is not the case for me as the internet seems far more rampant than people you walk by on the streets. You would expect vice-verse

I would say that almost on the net seems to like Lesbians not matter what...

Liking cats and dogs; a lot of people obviously accept porn; images of girls almost naked is fully accepted.

What I think that most people don't accept are people that like PETA, some kinds of anime, the pony show, pictures of guys almost naked, people typing stuff that no one cares on facebook and other social networks, religious and homosexual propaganda( a lot of people don't like this) and some atheist propaganda too sometimes, I have seen it.

There's a lot of stuff that people accept and don't accept, to be honest I couldn't care less or more, doesn't really matter, I think people shouldn't base their opinions on what other people like.
