Thread: Oh Todd Akin...

    Oh Todd Akin...

The crazy things you say just keep on surfacing. Never change.

It turns out that Todd Akin's "legitimate rape" comment might not be the most inaccurate and stupid statement of the Missouri Representative's career. In a 2008 speech on the House floor, Rep. Akin said (emphasis mine):

"You find that along with the culture of death go all kinds of other law-breaking: Not following good sanitary procedure, giving abortions to women who are not actually pregnant, cheating on taxes, all these kinds of things."

"All of these things are common practice," Akin continued, "but all of that information is available for America."

Words fail me on this, I wanted to post a certain meme featuring Captain Picard but decided against it.

My first instinct is to laugh. Then I remember that this is real life and there is actually an ignorant, bigoted moron on the house committee for science.

Admit it, you don't want to see him go anywhere; he's a fantastic source of entertainment.

Also, criminals who don't wash their hands must be stopped.

I really don't want him to go anywhere. I think Missouri should elect him governor once he's out of federal office. They should take one for the team just so that that comedy gold mine doesn't leave the public eye.

He's a very, very stupid person. I'll never understand how or why people that are literally very, very stupid people have any success in politics or life in general.

Would be funnier if he wasn't in an elected position.

I suppose it comes back to that quip about what a stupid person thinks a smart person sounds like. The people best able to emulate that are actual stupid people.
