    [Shadow] Trinkets

    I have a little problem:

    Our guild is crafting the DMC for everyone who needs it. That means only for best in slot gear. The BiS in H2P says:

    Trinket
    (H) Essence of Terror (509)
    Terrace of Endless Spring: Sha of Fear / Heroic-10/25
    2316.1293 = 1300 + 1016.1293

    Essence of Terror (496)
    Terrace of Endless Spring: Sha of Fear / Normal-10/25
    2052.3874525 = 1152 + 900.3874525

    Relic of Yu'lon (476)
    Inscription
    1820.8571 = 1820.8571

    Light of the Cosmos (489)
    Mogu'shan Vaults: Elegon / Normal-10/25
    1425.3768 = 942.5243 + 482.8525

    so it's definitely best in slot, but the SC result of a mate says that the trinket is marginal better so that isn't worth to pay 100k gold for it. But the list says that there is es difference of 400PP and thats not representing the sim results.

    Can I trust the best in slot list on h2p, or is the simcraft result the right?

    edit:

    If the choice is between the DMC vs Light of the Cosmos. It's a matter of Int vs Haste. In my opinion the Int is always stronger. The haste however, should help you reach the haste point of 8085. It depends on what your current gear is like atm, I suppose. However I would be using the DMC and the Essence of Terror as BiS. Perhaps down the road when more theorycrafting is done and I do a little more research, my opinion could change but as of now that's where I stand.

    The DMC will be awesome if used correctly (stack CDs and re-apply dots). I am getting mine Sunday and will be using it in raid that day. I can post logs if you want to see some actual in-game data.

    I'll have a weak aura setup to track the proc and ICD to maximize its potential.

    Its definately BiS, and not by a small margin.

    Ugh do we seriously still have to do that? I could have swore that i read something where DoT's update in "real time", meaning if you have a bunch of procs, DoT damage rises in conjunction, and back down when the proc fades.

    Anyone have real info on this? (not saying you are wrong, i just really really hope you are lol)

    I am fairly certain dots don't update in realtime. You have to re-apply as stuff procs. Last xpac Shadow Word: Pain was constantly being refreshed in our rotation, which means it was a dot you didn't have to re-apply with procs. Maybe thats what you were thinking of?

    I already have DMC and LotC, and any upgrade i want is to replace LotC to heroic Essence of Terror. DMC is by far a bis atm, and i think it will be still good trinket in 2nd raiding tier. We already can get haste cap (i mean +2 DP) so LotC its not so really good if you have more ppl in raid interested in it, just pass, reforge less haste into crit and will be good. Sorry for my cripple english ;p

    Someone in my guild found a blue post on it:

    TL : DR - You still gotta re-apply dots. The good thing is that once you re-apply, your dot maintains its strength for the full duration of the spell, even if the proc falls off before the dot is over.

    It is a tough call tbh because getting to the haste break point (8084) is very important. Some argue more important than getting hit capped. It's ultimately going to come down to what gear you have elsewhere. Int is always going to be great, haste to the breakpoint is always going to be great. It all depends on what your stats are.

    I'm at 474 ilvl and can't get to the haste breakpoint yet even with gems and reforges. I am about 500 haste away. I think 1 or 2 more upgrades and 476 average ilvl will put 8084 haste within reach.

    I think the haste breakpoint is VERY VERY important, i notice a huge dps decrease when im below it compared to having it. It is Definitely worth dropping some int to get it

    Thats weird, I got a #1 rank yesterday without haste breakpoint... I will be getting it as soon as possible tho
