I don't get why people are saying it sucks. All the other Talents in that tier suck. And this one is cool/fun.
You've never been playing Feral and wanted a change of pace, and start throwing Starballs into peoples faces all of a sudden? <_<
It's not bad but the CD/duration is way too long. It's supposed to used for when you need to perform your off-role, but in PvP you never need to do that for more then like 15 sec. If you're going to heal instead of DPSing for 45 seconds, well might as well just play healer instead.
I probably won't use HotW over either DoC or NV.
I literally LOL'd. Love this. Please post this in the "HOTW is useless thread!"

^ I love doing arenas on my druid and luring people away from there healer and 1v1ing them as heals XD
Its a fun ability to have in battlegrounds but thats about it. An ability that has 6 minutes cooldown and can easily be avoided through cc and los is nothing special in high end arenas.
I would go as far as to say it is ok in 2v2 but when you think about real pvp (read 3v3) there really only is one choice in that tier and thats Nature's vigil.
There is a reason that the rank1 resto druids arent using it after all.
Anything that crits big usually gives these kind of reactions tho
i used it on shadow pan monastary, we had no ranged dps so i was doing ranged dps on the shadow orbs with like 85K wrath crits

It's broken right now if you use the "Non-Balance" portion of it. The feral druid in my raid was doing 200-250k dps on 25m Elegon during phase 1.
It's useful in random BGs since it allows you to compensate for the general lack of coordination there. Yesterday I was the only guy escorting our FC and he got zerged. As a feral I generally can't do much to help in those situations, but I popped HoTW and was able to heal him and keep him alive until we got help and our real healer showed up.
Thankfully they pretty much ignored me though, I guess as a feral they didn't expect me to do such strong healing. Or perhaps it's simply because the "healers have to die" addon doesn't warn people of non-resto druids using HoTW to heal.
Using HoTW + bear form is also useful to survive longer as an orb carrier in ToK. NS + HT also heals you for a fuckton without having to exit bear form with HoTW up.

Well, in defense of HotW, Blizz has know for a while (even during beta testing) how strong the "Non-Balance" portion is. They even said they weren't too concerned and had no issues with the damage, but they'd keep an eye on it anyways. Perhaps one change would be that Feral/Guardian cannot benefit from Spell Power on weapons, for starters. However, if they do end up adjusting HotW to lower Wrath-spamming damage, they better buff the Non-Feral portion so that it actually does something for Guardians.

pvp is as always the biggest risk of getting HotW nerfed

It's scaling WAY too much from the agility that a feral has. I'm not really complaining, I don't really want it taken away since it's amazing burst dps for my raid right now, but it's pretty over the top.
Doing the reverse, a boomkin going cat form using heart of the wild is no where near the same amount of dps either.
Actually, HoTW scales poorly as we gear up. It only benefits from haste, crit and agil, while our other abilities benefit from agi, hit, exp, crit, mastery, haste, and attack power (gloves!). I'm sure that somewhere around t15 or at the latest, very early in t16, it becomes a dps loss to HoTW as cat, and early on in t15, doc will become superior.
Mooncats are also doing pretty extreme amounts of damage while hotw is up, at -least- as much damage as hotw wraths. They just suck at single target and cat damage is spread out over like three or four different abilities so it's not omgwtf as 30% of the top dps in this fight comes from wrath.
As i said earlier. Its strong in battlegrounds with bads everywhere. Bring it in high rated arenas and you will suffer the consequenses. L2P
iv been playing around with it as guardian, on 5 man bosses that always stand in the same spot.
so i went bear, u sed bezerk for threat and after that i move to range and started nuking the boss at range
got some nice 120K normal wrath hits and like 250K wrath crits, and this was without swapping my weapon to a caster weapon...

From a tanking perspective as Guardian, other tanks while tanking tend to get better Vengeance (which translates into better DPS) just because of how SD works. On Will of the Emperor, I was falling behind my Prot warrior counterpart by 10-20k DPS, even when I did the tank dance for Opportunistic Strikes every time. I also took significantly less damage than my OT, since you can have a very high uptime on SD for when the boss actually melees (for those that haven't done this boss yet, the melee auto-attacks are pretty brutal followed by a long downtime where you do your little dance). Basically, because of how we're designed to tank, we'll put out significantly less damage on some encounters.
If you view HotW from this perspective, being able to Wrath spam is situational depending upon boss mechanics, where we will surpass other tanks by a similar amount. I know I've certainly not been able to Wrath spam every encounter (to the point where either blanket Rejuv is better or there literally is not a good time to do it). In reality, especially on single-target tank swap fights, the tank who eats the enrage or tanks the longest will usually win the DPS battle despite Wrath spam.
