Cloud Serpents were super ridiculously easy to get to exalted. It never crossed my mind to waste time for an egg hunt.
A few days more or less. Who really cares about that?
It's the start of a new expansion still, and why bother to get something a day or a week earlier when there's a good 2 years still ahead?
I spent the time with other things that made me profits instead.

Well, considering at the start of the expansion the egg grind could be done in 2-3 hours instead of dragging it out for 2 years. So many people ground out the rep early, which left lots of time afterwards for making profit.
