If Intellect is 3.1 and crit is 1.62, then no.

    (80*3.1)+(1.62*160) = 248 + 211.2 = 459.2
    1.62*320 = 518.4

As has been mentioned many times, stat weights vary according to gear. If, at any point, crit is worth more than half of Intellect, it's beneficial to gem pure crit.
At 12049 Intellect (my gear), I gain 5.67% crit. This means that 1 intellect is worth a TINY (0.0004%) amount of crit. 80 Intellect grants us 0.032% crit, equivalent to 19.2 crit rating, thus should almost be ignored when coming to calculations.

Depends on what you mean by 'raw' DPS. All 3 specs are performing well in comparison to others, with Fire coming out on top of the Mage specs. Sims suggest Fire being 2nd best overall DPS spec (behind Aff Locks) in T14 HC gear.

oh ok, i didn't realise haste was so important for us early on.
So am i right in thinking as i have the combustion glyph i should be aiming for 3188 haste before even starting to think about crit?

3043 is the cap with Glyph and assuming you gain 5% haste in raids. After that you should be going all out crit.

I just did some tests with simc and the haste breakpoint, both using Glyph of Combustion. First with just 2766 haste, then with 3065 haste.

While the 3065 haste setup resulted in a ~150 dps loss for me, that's apparently due to a simc bug, since it seems to ignore the glyph and still casts the same amount of combustions in the same interval.

Right ok, I was currently just stacking Hit and Crit and just having haste if it was there. Maybe this is why my dps was suffering, or atleast not being what i expected for the gear i have.
I shall start collecting some haste gear this evening and have a play around and see what i can get. thanks for the advice.

If all 3 T6 talents were theoretically equal in terms of damage gain, then Invocation would simply not cut it for fire since you're most likely to lose your Ignite with the Evocation, which isn't an issue for Arcane and Frost.

Dropping ignite isn't a DPS loss though unless combustion is off cooldown. Why would it be?

Ignite is always going to be just your damage +x%, meaning Invocation is identical in value to the other talents :U

Who says that the cap is 3043 haste? Did anybody prove it?

It's pretty easy to work out mathematically, I'm not sure why you're questioning it without providing any opposing maths.

    20.000ms / 22,5ticks = 888,8888889
Blizzard's rounding mostly rounds down and adds 0,4999ms ---> 888,4999ms
There are special cases with a different handling, but that's detail stuff and not necessary here.

    20.000ms / 888,4999ms = 22,5098506
    22,5098506 / 20 = 1,12549253 (that's the haste you need for + 3 glyphed CB Ticks)
    1,12549253 / 1,05 = 1,07189765

    7,189765 * 425 = 3.055,65

(Sorry, typing with iPhone, only limited number of digits - should be enough)
That's the way used in cataclysm and as far as I know it did not change.

No idea if this is of any help to anyone, but here's my amazing notepad napkin math for determining how good Natli's Fireheart Robe is compared to the crafted one as a Firemage.

    Spelltwister's Grand Robe

    1523 Stamina
    855 Intellect
Yellow sock (Potent - 80 int 160 crit)
Blue socket (Veiled - 80 int 160 hit)
    Socket bonus: +120 int

    474 Mastery
    686 Haste

Mastery reforge to Crit (190 Mastery -> 190 Crit)

    +80 to All Stats enchant

    Total stats:

    Intellect: 1215
    Hit: 160
    Crit: 350
    Mastery: 284
    Haste: 686

    _____

    Natli's Fireheart Robe

    1522 Stamina
    1015 Intellect

    726 Hit
    610 Crit

    +80 to All Stats enchant

    Total stats:

    Intellect: 1095
    Hit: 726
    Crit: 610

    ____

SCALE FACTORS (Kefka - Draenor EU)

    3.78 Int
    2.95 SP
    2.36 Hit
    1.98 Crit
    1.36 Haste
    1.34 Mastery

    Spelltwister:

    1215*3.78 - 4592,7
    160*2.36 - 377,6
    350*1.98 - 693
    284*1.34 - 380,56
    686*1.36 - 932,96

    Total - 6976,82

    Natli's:

    1095*3.78 - 4139,1
    725*2.36 - 1711
    610*1.98 - 1207,8

    Total - 7057,9

    great guide, thanks so far

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...nthos/advanced could anyone please look over my character? we're trying feng tonight and i want to be in top form! is there anything i should change enchant and gem wise?

i should note that reforgelite made a mistake and reforged my neck from crit to haste which i have to revert once i'm home. should i put a +320 crit gem in my chest or should i sim my current statweights first? sorry for this questions i was never that good with theorycrafting.
