Shadow priest: how much dps is good dps?

I'm 463, average and I would consider myself ready to raid. The guild I'm in is in no rush to start raiding (really not hardcore), so I thought I could pug one of those raids forming on trade, from time to time. Thing is, the guy was asking for "need 60K dps easy"... 60K dps "easy"? Just to be sure, I asked him in trade "60K unbuffed on a single target, and you want 60K easy?", he said yes, a mage added that he was doing 60K easily...

Perplexed I go to my level85 dummy (which is far from any other dummies, in Orgrimmar) and start my usual rotation: I'm doing 32K "easy"... How the *blip* am I supposed to do 60K easy? Are they out of their minds?

In heroics I do everything in between 27K to 70K, it really depends on the number of ads (as you know spriest is a good multi-dotting class now, if not THE best), but I really don't see how I could be doing 60K, unbuffed, on a single target. My current gear needs new feet, and maybe I should try to buy 1 or 2 476+ items, but for now... is my dps ok?

Its funny because the first boss prefers multidotters and intelligence>damage.

I think you didn't miss much by not going to his raid.

Biggest damage increase I can think of (since i'm assuming i'm seeing your disc trinkets) is to make sure you get the trinket from the first boss of niuzao. Its literally a few thousand dps increase from most other trinkets.

Get some glyphs btw. And enchant stuff, it's cheap. MoP gems are cheap too.

how on earth do you have such a low active time on ultraxion? 88% is really bad.
To the op: single target is not our weak point, its aoe, we are extremely under performing in this domain.

Just noticed, yeah. It wasn't pulled on timer though, started later and screwed up the intro. 1:28 mins translates into a lower % Regardless, it was a fun, mount run, goes to show that even if they don't try, SP's can do decent.

From what I can see currently, "60k easy" will be enough to get you mid-upper ranks on WoLs but only 200 priests in the world are going to rank so......I wouldn't worry about "60k easy" if you are not that kind of player.

Thing is on a target dummy you dont have crit, mastery, spell power, spell damage buff and whatever else.

You mean Inner Fire? does that not stack with spell power buffs?

If it doesn't then i'll switch to Inner Will when the buff is about.

Inner fire is a self buff for the priest, not a raid wide buff. Priests are balanced around having it active.
