I haven't taken a real IQ test, so I wouldn't know. I do have enough intelligence not to pay for a test that really has no bearing on how I conduct my life though.
Now if you're talking internet "IQ tests," then I range from being an idiot to being a genius depending on which site is giving the "test."
Or it's just the internet, where the vast majority of self descriptions and accomplishments are lies or exaggerations. :P
I think my take is more likely! Not going to lie, reading through 3 pages of people claiming they have genius or near genius IQ levels is amusing.

I hate to break it to you but yes, their IQ's were that high. Those numbers actually aren't too uncommon, there are plenty of people with high IQ's living normal lives. Also those aren't the only people with IQ's "waaaaaaay up there well beyond 99.9999999% of people" that I know. My mother is another example of someone with a high IQ at about 164, however she claims that her IQ is that high because she knows what they're looking for in an IQ test.
I'm a little amused that you honestly believe that everyone with a high IQ is living a life with huge impact on society, because that certainly isn't the case.
EDIT:
Reading through this thread I keep seeing people saying "You know hat the odds are of scoring..." We're talking about an incredibly numerous species of over 7 billion individuals. Each of which is a vastly different person from the next. The "odds" don't hold nearly as much weight in this case.

Iq tests are like cpu benchmarks, nice to have a high number but no real application (unless your like 180+ and likely insane in some fashion).
Took one in highschool in psychology class, it was 140 something. It does make sense seeing as how my brother or cousins had to work their asses off just to get decent grades and I just coasted along without any trouble.
No, but that still doesn't change the odds. The odds of knowing 2 people with a confirmed IQ of over 160 is probably upwards of 1 in a few thousand trillion. The odds of knowing 3 people with a confirmed IQ of over 160 is probably closer to infinity than it is to 1 in a few trillion.
Simply put, you don't. 1 in 31,560 people have an IQ of 160 or above. So statistically, for you to know "several" people that have them that high, you would only need to know about 150,000 people or so. Derp.

I see many people here writing 135-160 which are probably liars. I took an actual iq test, a real one, not online and my iq is 127.
