Heyo, as there are so many people asking about trinkets, I thought I'd chuck my little notepad thingy up on here. Keep in mind that it uses my own scale factors, in my own gear. It won't be exactly the same for you, but it will show us a littlebit of information about how trinkets are for fire spec.

Feel free to add your own tidbits of information. It's much appreciated.


Zen Alchemist Stone:

With an internal cooldown of 55 seconds and its proc lasting for 15 seconds, the proc is equivalent to having a maximum of:

4561*(15/55) = 1243 Intellect
+451 Mastery (300 Mastery > Hit)

1243*3.78 - 4698,54
300*2.36 - 708
451*1.34 - 604,34

Total: 6010,88 (5896,88 if reforged to crit and not hit)


Vision of the Predator:

With an internal cooldowns of 105 seconds and its proc lasting for 30 seconds, the proc is equivalent to having a maximum of:

3386*(30/105) = 967,43 Crit
+847 Intellect

847*3.78 - 3201,66
967,43*1.98 - 1915,5

Total: 5117,17


Light of the Cosmos (normal):

With an internal cooldown of 45 seconds and its proc lasting for 20 seconds, the proc is equivalent to having a maximum of:

3236*(20/45) = 1438 Intellect
+1079 Haste (431 Haste > Hit)

1438*3.78 - 5435,64
431*2.36 - 1017,16
548*1.36 - 745,28

Total: 7198,08 (7034,2 if reforged to Crit and not Hit)


Relic of Yu'lon:

With an internal cooldown of 50 seconds and its proc lasting for 15 seconds, the proc is equivalent to having a maximum of:

3027*(15/50) = 908,1 Intellect
+956 Intellect

1864,1*3.78 - 7046,29

Total: 7046,29

Nice post. Any chance of getting same calculations also for Brewfest trinket and Ghost Iron Dragonling. Also for easier reading would be good listing stat values you used at start of post. This could be good start for sticky post, I am sure lot of trinket questions will show up.

Any idea how fast Light of Cosmos procs for mages?

For me personally Light of Cosmos procs very fast after the ICD ends. Usually within 3 seconds.

I'll work on the post a bit more later, arenaing now. ^^

With the same scale factors, I'm getting 5348.28 with the unreforged brewfest trinket (45sec ICD, optimal proc rate), and 5858.15 with Jade Magistrate Figurine normal mode if used asap.

and btw, the relic proc lasts 15 sec

The Alchemist stone is in fact significantly better. The Mithril Wristwatch is awful for its item level.

What is the ICD of the brewfest trinket? If it's the same as the alchemist stone, Brewfest one should be better for fire. Crit is way better then mastery, and the SP proc on brewfest is more spellpower then the 4k int proc would give.

its about 55s icd with very low proc rate so im assuming its 60

@OP you need to calculate int gets multiplied twice right from our wizardy and motw/kings?? so int*1.1025

and why did you make DMC 50s icd while elegon trinket is 45?? they are both 45s icd with 20% proc chance so make them both 50s icd to be fair testing

that puts DMC 7768.53 with wizardry+kings

and elegon trinket 7156.79 wizardry+kings

btw where did you get your stat values??? would be much appreciated if you could tell me arcane one stat scale factor :P

The stat scale factors are drawn from simming my own character in SimCraft, and yes. I completely forgot to add stat multipliers to the trinkets - my apologies. I was rather tired when I did it. ^^

I just acquired the relic of yulon. I now have the stopwatch and the vision of the predator. Which one would you guys advise on swapping out?

so.....1397+4497=5894. so this trinketis better than your average heroic trinkets but far worse than raiding trinkets (DMC&LOTC) and if your an alchemist keep your alchemy trinket since its better

so all in all this trinketis pretty shitty even though it looks tempting >_> i suggest you to spend your VP on ring then bracer since MV doesnt drop any bracer or rings(unless galleon for rings+klaxxi at exalted)

Also there is weighting to be considered, so if you prepot and hero at start, there is a high chance that Vision of the Predator will be better for you, and at least in sims with my gear , given for burst on demand on use trinkets allways win..

Oh and at least as fire you can get the pvp bracers with rather small ammount of work, certainly less time spent than if you want to get the valor needed to buy celestial bracers
