Video rendering question

Hello guys,

yesterday I frapsed a boss kill and I would like to compress it and send it to a guildie who will do the editing. I have the Virtual Dub programm. What would be the best codec to use for rendering it, so it doesnt loose much quality? I tried couple but it was always kinda bad in the end... Any advices would be appreciated

I just use the windows movie maker on the hd quality option.. ._.
