    Macro - Rising Sun, Blackout

    Hey there,

is it possible to put Rising Sun Kick and Blackout Kick on the same button, so it uses Rising Sun on CD, otherwise Blackout as monk?

    thanks for help

Not really. They don't want one-button play.

I guess you could potentially use a macro like the following: /castsequence reset=8 Rising Sun Kick, Blackout Kick, Blackout Kick, Blackout Kick

It would cast Rising Sun Kick at the beginning, then blackout kick and reset at 8 seconds back to RSK once the cooldown is up. You can add more blackout kicks at the end if you find yourself looping back to RSK before the cooldown is up. Although I don't know how wise it is to use a macro like this.

Edit - I haven't tried this in game, I think it would work, but maybe they restrict castsequence macros more.

It would work but it would be horrible. Cast sequence macros have a lot of lag built in to them and it would lower your DPS but a lot using this.

Yeah, I'm not recommending its use at all. If you find yourself often forgetting that RSK has come off cooldown, just use a tracker like WeakAuras (or any one of the many out there) to be aware when it does.

    Use a modification macro.

Using a Modifier macro would be best.

Make the "#showtooltip Rising Sun Kick" and make Rising Sun Kick cast when you press, like, [Shift] and have it cast Blackout Kick normally with no modifier. With a /castsequence if you have too few Blackout Kicks you will get stuff waiting for Rising Sun to come off cooldown and lose DPS time, or too many and it may not cycle back till a good while after Rising Sun has come off cooldown, thus losing DPS again by letting Rising Sun sit for too long available.

The reset argument takes care of having too many Blackout Kicks in the macro.

would the castesquence reset after 8 seconds, even if i don't use up all the blackout kicks i wrote in the macro?

Yes, it should. After 8 seconds it will reset to the first action, which is RSK in this case.

Resets take place x seconds after the last button press, not the start of the macro, so if you don't use up all of the Blackout Kicks it could potentially leave it with Blackout Kick for a few seconds after Rising Sun Kick comes off cooldown.
