Full release? Probably 2016/17. We might (but probably won't) get our hands on the very first form of PU alpha in the form of a single system by the end of 2015, bu again, it's unlikely.

Speaking about releases, is there any ETA on when AC 1.0 is coming out?
Original plan was by the end of the year, but in the last Around the 'Verse the date was changed to "soon™". And if you have ever had any experience with developers and their release dates...
In all honesty, I think a release by the end of the year is actually quite possible. We'll see. Obviously, we'll get soe definitive during the stream on Friday.

RSI are currently having their end of the year livestream.
And have introduced the sexy as hell Pegasus Escort Carrier currently being worked on by Foundry 42...
The concept artist who did this ship got hired to do concept ship art for the new Star Wars trilogy.
And a new commercial, this time for the Mustang.

Roberts said that AC 1.0 will be coming out later on today or tomorrow.

Alright, I'll start: How many thousands will CIG put up that ship for? I predict 5k+

CR's congratulation letter to Frontier on their launch of Elite 4!
I hope devs would do this more often.
Love the back half of the Pegasus but the front just reminds me of a luxury yacht from Thunderbirds/Captain Scarlet.

That ship won't be going on sale. It will be used for Squadron 42. The biggest ship type that was to be sold was the Javelin destroyer. This ship is twice that size (700m versus 375m) and will be a persistent vessel (unlike the destroyer that will disappear when the owner logs out).
Agreed. Braben responded in this week's newsletter with the following.

I want to take this opportunity to highlight the gracious message posted on the Roberts Space Industries website by Chris Roberts.
I wholeheartedly agree with this – I am delighted by the grass roots driven rise in space sims. I backed Star Citizen and am looking forward to playing it as I’m sure many of you are. The same goes for No Man's Sky.
That I'm not sure on. For the past few months I've heard conflicting ideas on if they're going to do that. First I heard that you could log out anywhere if your ship had a bed. I think it was only ships that didn't have beds had to autopilot back to the nearest safe base when you logged out. Then I heard they may rethink that, so I think it's still up in the air.
Also, Arena Commander 1.0 is now offically released. I'm downloading it now. Quite a few more ships and their variants have been added including the Avenger.
I retreat into vacation time with a bottle of Macallan and tv shows and suddenly, so much shit happens!
I also can't be the only one amazed and absolutely flabbergasted that they met (and beat) a release deadline!
I am also amazed that "colour" and "neighbour" get flagged by Chrome for spelling but not "flabbergasted" what the actual fuck.
I don't think anyone's linked the Imagine trailer that got released recently. Was apparently a fan creation at first but CIG liked it so much, they picked it up.
I really wonder how this will work out with the instancing they plan on having. If something like the Pegasus ends up available to players after the game launches -- the full complement would supposedly involve 30 craft right there, not to mention support crew still in the ship. If instances are only planned to be 50-60 ships, that doesn't leave much room if say, you had two carriers slugging it out. You wouldn't even get escort ships into the instance at that rate.
Yeah, that is the 67 million dollar question. That could make or break the game.
I've posted it a few times in this thread in regards to instancing. Basically, ignore what you (and most) think instancing means. It is not the same as say WoW or even GW2 would define instancing. Instancing in SC is just a server side load balancing method. They are dynamically scaled and interactive with one another.
This video does a good job of explaining it.
combined with these:
I do like the way the physics is handled between local instances, quite ingenious. I definitely think we'll see a lot more of it in the future as it's a hurdle that has probably put a fair few ideas on the back burner.
