They didnt seem to be all bunched up to me. I pulled about 9 of the mogu as an MM hunter and had no problem taking them down. It is annoying that the companion is in the way a lot of the time and is mounted when you are not. Also I dont think Im getting credit for the companion achievement because I have the "no champion" debuff when I have one right next to me. Maybe Im using the wrong npcs. Otherwise the dailies are just like all the others - kill x of this, collect x of this.

The quest where you swing from cloud serpent to cloud serpent is pretty fun IMO.

Dailies are as optional and gemming your gear. Sure, the game doesnt forbid you to do anything without gemming your gear, but you would be giving up so much advantages that its not really an option.

The only thing you NEED dailies for are the charms and you can get enough lesser charms without ever touching Shado-Pan.

At first, I was with the OP. This particular set of dailies bugged the crap out of me (no pun intended). I grabbed one of the Shado-Pan NPCs (the hunter) and my bag of supplies and headed out. I was apparently fail with the bag of stuff and my hunter friend was pulling things left and right (things I hadn't intended on pulling).

After that first day, I stopped taking a Shado-Pan NPC and I didn't bother with the bag of stuff. As a mage, I haven't had a problem since. Sure, I occasionally pull a few extra mobs, but it's a rarity. Of course, I no longer do those dailies as I am exalted and don't feel the want to go back.

If you are calling that mandatory and compare that with not socketing 10+ gems in your gear, you are completely delusional.

Yes VP and dailies help you to gear faster. No content is not tuned to you having these epics, as has been demonstrated by all guilds that cleared normal MSV in the first ID.

Besides you're missing the actual topic here: The dude talks about doing these dailies NOW when the progression race is essentially over. He also talks about disliking a single quest hub out of three. I told him to leave that hub out because it is optional. Yes he gets rep a little slower, but he can't spend VP that fast anyway. So he can pick the hubs he is comfortable with and hit revered a few days later.

Also, you are comparing the items with the next best, which is RNG dependant, meaning it might actually NEVER drop. Reputatoin items, which are BiS, are not RNG dependant.

To those who haven't gotten revered with Golden Lotus yet, prepare for some horribly designed dailies.

While I can't speak for all the different "sets" of dailies, the one involving Sra'vess (one of the islands in Townlong) are atrocious. The mobs are all in packs and are everywhere.

Which is awesome? I love areas that are packed with mobs, so i can chain pull the whole shebang..

The NPCs that you can get to help you are horrible and end up pulling more mobs than actually helping. The "stealth" effect doesn't even work half the time, which results in many more mobs being pulled. If you end up pulling too many mobs and don't have some type of vanish/FD ability, you're screwed, as it is pretty much impossible to "run" away from the mobs, unless you jump off the island into the water.

Use the tank/melee/NO NPCs, problem solved.

The actual quest design is horrible too. One of the dailies involves smoke bombing certain targets, and the quest tracker is bugged and doesn't even display the buildings locations. They all look pretty much exactly the same too, so you have to fly around the island looking for any building with a "hunter's mark" type icon in the entrance.

Try doing the dailies more then one time, and REMEMBER where the buildings are. That quest is so freakin faceroll i cant believe you are whining about it..

Exalted with Shado Pan and i must say those dailies where one of the best/fastest there are. Done them mostly with no NPC help.

And another thing, there is something called inviting people to your party, to make it easier if its too hard for you.

Another of the quests involves killing Elite mantid. The Elite mantid pretty much always are on a pat and have allies that pat with them. Since the mobs are so close, pray to the Titans that your NPC doesn't pull more fucking mobs.

It is probably the first time I have stopped while in the middle of doing dailies. They are incredibly frustrating, and I have pretty much decided to wait till I complete all the other factions.

I am exhalted with Shado pan and - hell, I am glad they were as they are. Mobs packed tight? Pull more than you want? getting adds? Nice..it is a challenge at least. Oh..and FYI I still got the achieve where you need to kill the EXACT number of mobs for the quests on my first try. So-----if you are careful, things work fine. A good training if you ever want to be a tank and need to pull correctly, if nothing else.

And that might be a reason why there also is a "Know your role" achieve.....

What i hate are the achievements for them...Do them without taking damage? 0o complete 15 dailies with each companion? Both are just evilly designed.

I usually get the mogu or the firecamp dailies and only got the mantid one once which i did the rebel achievement for so i didn't really have any issues with them.

Either you are incapable of understanding or simply UNWILLING to see reason.
He will get his so called "mandatory omg non HC BiS item" whether he does the hub he dislikes or not.

Pros of leaving Sra'vess out:
-Less nerves spend on annoying stuff that isn't fun

Cons of leaving Sra'vess out:
- Needs a few more days to get his "BiS omg so important that I can't raid without it normal mode" item.

BTW: Shado pan items are Ilvl 489. There is no BiS in there due to lower item level.
The ring from Shieldwall is only BiS because it has Ilvl 496.

Going from Golden Lotus to Shado-pan, doing Golden Lotus plus Shado-pan everyday, until reaching exalted with both was not fun. Shado-pan in general was awful. The mobs are always hugging your character with their kite mount. However, at the end of it all, you do get a free dragon (after some one time quests).

I have that problem in general.
My water elemental ALWAYS runs to the dead mob and stays on top of it when I want to loot. I swear it's doing it on purpose!
Hunter pets seem to be a tad smarter and stay next to me.
Weird. Shouldn't they use the same AI functions?

I have to say, well the golden lotus felt like it took ages to get anywhere with, I have never been more happy to get exalted with a faction then i have with the shado-pan, purely because of how much i hated doing to god dam dailies.

maybe you should have taken the wu'kao (?) supplies with you, which give you items that work as vanish/sap/some kind of distract

This... Also, i think one of the NPCs you can escort gives you stealth.

Shado Pan is my least favorite right next to cloud serpent. Shado Pan is a pain because you have to deal with an npc who doesn't help much at all, requires you to fly a long distance away to do the dailies (or in the least teleport to a closer island and fly to the next island), and you have to figure out ways to deal with too many adds when the guy you want already has 2 adds attached to him. Some classes mileage may vary of course.

My problem with cloud serpent is that a lot of those dailies require you to go into caves or beaches that are jam packed with mobs, like the hozen cave where if you let off an aoe you have to deal with aggroing the baby dragons who you were suppose to be collecting, not killing. And again, class mileage may vary but if there is one thing a frost mage hates is dealing with -more- and -more- adds as the fight goes on. My demonologist just eats more adds up for breakfast but a certain point you spend more time wading through the aggro then you need to.

Agreed, that these can be aggroed is soo frustrating. You can still collect them while they attack you though, if that hasn't changed.

Use the rogue, prot warr or disc priest companion and the smoke bombs and u should be fine

Those were the ones i found most enjoyable out of the bunch, to be honest. The variety on the locations, of the following NPC, some fun achievements to go alongside them... i actually enjoyed them quite a bunch.
