    Earthquake?

    Since Earthquake's quite useless (apart from its knock down) and only really used with Ancestral Swiftness I think it would be a good ability to speculate on what it could become. With the state it's in now, I wouldn't be surprised if it was removed or completely revamped in 6.0.

    I thought of a nice idea awhile ago that would make it more of a utility ability instead of an area of effect damage cooldown. Something along the lines of...:

    Rupture Line
    30 yd range
    1.5 sec cast, 30 sec cooldown
    Breaks up the ground between the caster and the targeted location, causing it to erupt in a spike of earth after 3 sec. Enemies within 5 yards of the erupting spike, or who have walked into the travel path of the rupture line will be stunned for 4 sec.

    That's basically it, but in my opinion it would be a pretty cool idea and make sense to be for an Elemental shaman; not to mention some of the interesting strategies players could utilize.

    We just have too few Earth-based abilities and Earthquake is useless as it is.

    Thoughts?

    They need to make it instant cast, so its wort casting in between chain lightning.

    I like earthquake =/ It just feels very elementalish. I wouldnt mind a cooldown removal though.

    Yeah it needs to work like destros rain of fire. Instant, and no cd. They need to add a debuff to targets hit by chain lightning or lightning bolt, and earthquake deals more damage on those players.

    They won't make it instant cast, because they don't want it to become a part of our single target rotation.

    Maybe have it benefit from Fulmination? Single target we'll want to use Earth Shock, and Earthquake for multiple targets.

    I think Blizzard is okay with Earthquake as it is right now. Place it smartly before you can start using CL or to help with some knockdowns. Do people want it as part of their normal AoE rotation?

    Give it to Enh...we'll use it to supplement our chitty AOE rampup

    Wouldn't mind it for larger packs, the rotation is pretty simplistic once you move past two or three mobs.

    how would instant cast make it part of single target rotation? it does horrible damage compared to ANYTHING in our arsenal

    i don't think that first comment is right because it's way too weak to be used single target, regardless of cast time.

    i love the second idea, though; fulmination-boosted earthquake could be fun.

    this, 1 lightning bolt makes EQ look pathetic on single target.

    Personally i would like to see it reworked entirely, those AoE's like Flamestrike / Blizzard / Rain of fire feel a bit outdated.

    Maybe something like that:

    You infuse yourself with the power of earth, any step by you causes an Earthquake around your feet and dealing X physical damage in a Y Yard Radius, additionally anytime time you cause Earthquake, it will leave behind a shattered ground effect, causing enemies that enter it to be slowed by 10%, Shattered ground can overlap up to 5 times and lasts Z seconds.

    Enemies affected by shattered ground take additional damage from chain lightning.


    Obviously CD needs to be increased to avoid PvP Imbalance but i like the general idea, would be a neat new move that requires to move to take it's full effect, seems interesting for pvp and has some potential for glyphs.
    Too often, we are mistaken for druidic types. perhaps that's true for some shaman, but do not let yourself be plagued by the ignorant belief that we are always peaceful.
