Led Zeppelin are nothing compared to the Beatles to be honest, in terms of legacy, popularity and genuine song writing talent.

I've no issues with the Beatles, even if I am nowhere near as well versed in their music as Zeppelin. I will say though that, IMO, the genius of Zeppelin was in taking songs from other genres and putting a rock-n-roll twist on them. Prime example being an old blues song by Memphis Minnie which Zeppelin covered in rock-n-roll fashion, that being "When the Levee Breaks."

What do you mean, music that wasn't recorded with good equipment, or music that doesn't have insane use of autotune and "dubstep" elements? If it's the latter...

I could really go on. There have been so many phenominal albums released this year (and in recent years) that don't fall prey to the same bullshit trend pop music attempts to cash in on. This isn't by any means a gospel on music, but check this list of music out and get the icky pop music out of your system.

But on topic, I'd have to say Neurosis and Swans fit the bill the most for me. If The Tallest Man On Earth releases another amazing album in the coming years, I'll probably say he supplants them, but 3 incredible albums isn't quite enough for that level of consideration.

Well Robert Plant didn't get murdered either... hard to compare anyway since it's still about taste after all. And my taste is way more Zeppelin.

The Beatles or Led Zepplin. Take your pick. I prefer The Beatles but both are great bands.

Neurosis: If you ignore the collaboration between Neurosis and Jarboe (most ppl would agree that it's not Neurosis anyway) they would be on an amazing 7 album streak: Souls at Zero (1992), Enemy of the Sun (1993), Through Silver in Blood (1996), Times of Grace (1999), A Sun that Never Sets (2001), The Eye of Every Storm (2004), Given to the Rising (2007). These guys never disappoint and hopefully their newest album will continue this great run.

Bob Dylan: 7 consecutive great album streak: The Freewheelin Bob Dylan (1963), The Times They Are A-Changin (1964), Another Side of Bob Dylan (1964), Bringing It All Back Home (1965), Highway 61 Revisited (1965), Blonde on Blonde (1966), John Wesley Harding (1967).

Yeah, St. Anger was a guilty pleasure for me. It wasn't "Metallica" per say, but it really wasn't that bad of an album.

I'd like to add Linkin Park to the list. Reanimation wasn't technically a standalone album, but it was pretty damn unique and pretty damn amazing. Minutes to Midnight, their 4th album, was critically acclaimed, but from a fan who's been with them since day one, it just didn't do it for me. Overall, they're still an amazing band, they just don't sound like Linkin Park to me anymore

GT, GATS, HB, EMG - Manic Street Preachers.

Some modern stuff is bad but those are great albums, with two of my top 10 in there.
In fact as far as I'm aware the UK is the only european nation that outright bans guns for civilians.
Shotguns I'll give you (provided you're allowed 12 and larger gauges... because I mean... come on...) but not .22s.
This is why people ban guns. Gun supporters don't know what guns are.

i guess it depends whom you ask..critics will rarely like many albums from a band..some fans like all albums from a band...for example, i like all of dream theater's albums so that would be my choice but well..it's hard to say which band had the best run...i guess i agree with the beatles, led zepp, metallica as those are more popular and pretty much everyone seems to agree with this

This would be my answer as well but it is no secret I am currently batshit crazy about Neurosis because of their latest .

1990's Green Day. Punk was at its best in the 90's.

Punk is nothing but death... and crime... and the RAGE of a BEAST

    ... Yeah I had to.

Anyway, you're probably gonna have to go with Queen or the Beatles. I'm sure Zeppelin is good too but I have no idea of the placement of what song when.

I'll toss "Pink Floyd" up there (the sequence would be "Dark Side of the Moon", "Wish You Were Here", "Animals" and "The Wall". All great albums, and in fact "Dark Side of the Moon" remains on the Billboard chart for over fourteen years (814 weeks as of 15Sept2012 see here -- nearly double the time as the next nearest album see this wikipedia article.)
