No HDMI Signal on BenQ monitor

So Ive ran with a VGA cabel for quite some time now, and I decided to get an HDMI cable.

Anyways, I dont get a signal when I use the HDMI cabel (its not broken, ive tested a few of my mates ones aswell). Does anyone know why this may be? I dont get a signal with a DVI cabel either, just VGA. Id really love to use my HD monitor with a clearer picture.

This is my monitor: BenQ 24" LCD G2420HD
This is my graphics card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5

    Thanks in advance

Silly question perhaps but did you switch inputs on your monitor?
Like using the monitor's OSD menu and switching it from vga to dvi or hdmi?

Most monitors don't automaticly switch image source according to the connected cable, you have to manually set it in the OSD menu.

Yup, I switched manually on the screen itself. No luck
