On my horde toon I used to hide in the boat between theramore and wetlands and jump people off. I don't see too many alliance using boats. Maybe it's time I level an alliance priest an take over some Zeppelins.....

I wish it worked the way the deathknight one does on undeads.

Back towards the end of Wrath, I was on my Horde priest and going for Old Ironjaw in IF. I decided it would easier to enter IF via the Deeprun Tram from SW. So I throw on a my pretty decent set of pvp gear and get on the alliance boat from Northrend to SW Harbor. I ride through SW without attracting anything but guards until I finally zone into the tram. Whew, I'm a bit low on mana but otherwise fine. The tram arrives and I sit down on a car and drink. As soon as the tram takes off, a stealthed rogue opens up on me, doing a reasonably good job of stunlocking and interrupting. I'm thinking I'm not going to survive this, and then I finally get a Fear off. That buys me enough time to MC him and drop him off the tram. I even had time to wave goodbye to him as I sped off down the tunnel.![]()
Presumably, since we have spent 8 years using Mind Control pretty much solely for the purpose of hucking people off cliffs, Blizzard would make any target we mind control immediately beeline and leap off of any cliff in range
If there are no cliffs available, they are permitted to assist us![]()
engineer in vanilla on my druid. loved to MC-cap flags in battlegrounds, and because the target had to be humanoid, the worst it could do was fail, as opposed to backfiring. hooray for being a kitty.
my favorite use, though ,was on a rogue who was stealthing around IF and got caught by some guards. he ran into an empty house, but his vanish failed/bugged/something. i put on my MC helmet and managed to rescue him with a mind-control just before he died. while i had him, i buffed him and healed him to full. when the MC broke, he /thanked me and stealthed away.
shortly after, he whispered me on an alliance toon (i was surprised, because back then you needed 2 accounts to have a horde and ally toon on the same server). he thanked me again and we joked around about what we would do if we saw each other in pvp. He agreed not to focus me, and i agreed not to faerie fire him. ;D
Throwing people into the lava in Blackrock Mountain was always fun back in classic![]()
Using shattrath NPC's to banish people from the city.
As an alliance character in vanilla I hid in the bottom of the zeppelin from org to undercity and would pop up when we started moving and mind control someone off the zeppelin to their demise in durotar. Never have I had so much fun.
i lvled my priest to 60 back in vanilla just to get revenge on the horde in blackrock mountain. so much fun watching high pvp ranked peeps falling to their doom in the lava.
Other favorite one was the time some horde used some sorta glitch to get onto the roof of IF auction house and kill any tagged peeps from range. LOVED mind controlling them to run off to the hundreds of peeps waiting below
Have you ever stepped on a lego piece while barefoot?
Can you recall that exquisitely piercing and utterly unforgettable pedal agony? Now imagine what would happen if you were to step on between 10 and 25 angry, well armed lego pieces which are all acting in brutal concert, and tell me how that would go for you.
Plus they have magic and sharp objects.
as a pve focussed shadow priest, back in TBC my biggest joy was mc'ing the naga priestesses from the SSC trash. i was able to pull about 750-800 dps with full tier 5 gear, and the naga priestesses smited for 1,5-2k dps which was outdpsing our locks who were just able to do 1-1,3k dps![]()
I have many of the same stories (healing other team, cliffs, making them spell things or do choreographed walking [need a few priests and enemies for this]), but honestly, I am having a lot more fun with void shift then I ever did with MC.
Void shift is seriously the most fun for pissing off your own team and confusing the hell out of the other team.
I have a personal vendetta against a few mages in my guild, so if were ever in the same BG I run into a group of melee, get down to 20%, void shift leap of faith and dispersion the hell out of there. Killing the other team is too easy, spells that kill your own team, now thats utility.
mind control a rogues vanish, or mind control -> eat trap.
1.) Mind Control Gamon and rape the Auction House
2.) Two death knight friends of me + me + rogue, Theramore, people arrive with the gryffon, icy chains -> deathgrip 1, deathgrip 2, mindcontroll, sap. Repeat until he's mile wide under the water ( we're all undead )
On vanilla I was always dancing with an alliance hunter in every WSG/AB, for months we were doing this and I really wished I could chat with the guy. Then after months someone told me I could talk with alliance using mindcontroll and /me, was so happy ! (Him not so much I guess to read all of my monologues).
I loved using it at Sethria's Roost (in Mount Hyjal) during Cataclysm, and making Alliance scum jump off the edge :P
Yay for giving durability damage to opposing players!
Mind controlling adds that could heal at the start of cata during heroic dungeons while other priests cried about how bad they were
