Devouring Plague DPS Lost acording to MFClip

    Hello,

First of all I never used MFclip before. I just downloaded to check a completely different thing and found out that this addon was telling me something like so:

DP (42.7%) 3511 DPS, 4525 DPS lost (max 8036 DPS)

So I actually got really suprised, this number seems to change a lot. Every other spell tells me I'm getting 100% of the posible DPS, but DP, I just don't get it.

Could it be that the addon believes you should be casting DP every time you have a shadow orb instead waiting for a DP 3Orb?

    I would love some insights.

    Thanks

That's the only thing I could think of, it's probably not taking into account the wasted GCD's every time you cast DP without 3 orbs.

I thought the author of MFclip said he wasn't going to keep it current for mop... this would be a likely explanation of why the numbers seem off.

Also, once over haste break point (8085) you are very close to gaining an extra tick of MF. I think number is 8100 haste for that if someone could confirm...

Anyways, the hashmarks in both MFclip and Quartz aren't accurate for MF anyways, making it kinda pointless to try and time your clips. I think its best to try and limit cutting off MF while not delaying your higher priority spells and keeping dots up.

I am not convinced there is an addon out there that can show you your actual MF ticks on a cast bar.

Oh looks like it is updated but is minimal. Author posted this:

I will update MFClip to the point it should work without errors. Though, all those changes at the beginning/during cataclysm rendered MFClip more and more useless. Now, MoP will change so much shadow functionality that I don't see much use in MFClip without changing most parts of the addon.

Sometimes during this weekend both new Gnosis and MFClip should be out (Gnosis with new features, MFClip probably with a few less like Empowered Shadow tracking - which is gone in 5.04).
So yea that is probably why it is giving odd feedback on DP. As far as an accurate castbar for MF I find Gnosis to be really accurate.

Yeah... no. Mind Flay doesn't work like that.

I think they mean that at around 8100 haste you are able to fit one mroe MF tick between mindblasts.

How does it work then? I may have misunderstood this:

"0% haste - 8 mf ticks (not possible)
    12.5% haste - 9 mf ticks (3036 @ 90, 915 @ 85)
    25% haste - 10 mf ticks (8096 @ 90, 2440 @ 85)
    37.5% haste - 11 mf ticks (13155 @ 90, 3964 @ 85)

Looks like 10 mf ticks lines up pretty evenly with the 2nd extra tick of DP and SW: P."

Kilee is refering to how many MF ticks you can chain together between MB's. Haste does shorten the time between ticks on MF (and thus the time channel it) but it doesn't actually add ticks to a single cast.
