Where did everybody go?

I took some time off to play some other games, and just came back today.
It's a weekend, my whole guild is gone, and the server is basically dead now.
What happened? What did I miss?

I feel like SWTOR dropping to 7 servers, or Tera dropping to 3 all of a sudden.... did the game just fail?

EU or USA realms? In EU is 8:34 AM CEST, so ppl are sleeping . On Gunnar's Hold in the prime times i still see tons of ppl.

Are you in the mmoc guild? If so, it is a wow guild for the most part so people are playing wow. Those that haven't done that are playing with other guilds for the most part.

Game is fun, don't get me wrong, very entertaining leveling a character to cap and then getting your full exotic set. After that, and frankly that is about a months work, there is no compelling need to login again. I am hoping the holiday events are fun otherwise this one may get deleted. Just no staying power as WvW is terribly weak.

I don't know what you mean by "dead server". What server is it and is it low pop? If it's EU realm then life really starts around 12:00-14:00 but early morning hours are usually deserted. I am playing on a Medium pop server and I can't exactly say it's dead even though some zones may be less frequented by now.

The game has been out for 2 months, other games have come out too. A gamer plays multiple games, not just one. People are playing other things. None of the servers are empty.

Hell I about 8 hours in WvW today, I couldnt even count the size of the zergs.

The game is basically complete once you have the best looking set for your char.

I got the best looking set in like 2-3 weeks after release, quit, and never felt the urge to log on again. :/ Same applies to all guildies.

Well that applies to any MMO if you are just in it for the PVE. You beat the content that has the gear you want. Farm content until you've met your goal. If you are loyal to your guild, you stick around for them to meet their similar or just to chat it up.

I still playing for the PVP, sPVP and WvW. Its seems the more that I play them, the deeper they get. Organized WvW is a lot of fun. My only problem with sPVP is that the ranking systems is a HUGE grind. Not a big deal because all gear is cosmetic but I get tend to get more glory when I lose than when I win.

3 hour queues to get in WvW on my server. Game is packed.

I'm on seafarer's rest eu and even though naturally there been a big drop in playerbase, as it always happens after a month or so, there's still a real lot of ppl here. Not crowded, WvW is instant, but still alot of ppl enough to say that game is very well alive.

I was going to print out a screen shot but couldn't be bothered. on your login screen select "world selection" bottom left and tell me what the servers population looks like. RIght now half of the NA servers are "HiGH" and the rest "FULL"

This thread again, its so anecdotal, my guild had a have you quit thread 3 weeks in which is just bizarre for a brand new mmo, however that is juat one guild i would hesitate to say my guild is indicative of the gw2 playerbase.

I'm playing on Aurora Glade and the server is bursting with people seriously. Even during the day you can find people all over the place.

Game is pretty packed whenever I'm playing. WvW usually doesn't have a queue anymore for the borderlands (which is nice actually) but otherwise havent seen much of a drop in people.

There aren't as many people in the low-level zones since a lot have reached 80 by now.

Quite alot of people are starting to understand that playing MMO's are just a waste of time. Yeah thats MO i understand. However i am not the only 1 that thinks this obv.

I don't know how it was at start, but I just started playing and I see different people everywhere in the starting zone, every event has around 5 people there.

I play on Piken Square, which is the lesser populated server, and there are still plenty of people around. What server are you on?
