Cross Realm Auction House For or againtst?

It seems Blizzard are considering (I only say considering)the option of making cross realm auction houses.

    Yay or Nay?

only if its for the severly low pop realms. if it comes to any other realms id hate it. its bad enough having idiots on your own realms undercutting you by half price and making everyone lose gold without idiots from multiple realms doing it

its getting the level where everything is cross faction. why not make it so that server caps are higher and merge them all together?

Nay. high or low populated realm it's your choice where you play and want to use the AH.
if you want to play out a monopoly in a certain vendoring go play a low pop server
if ye want competition go high pop

I think a Cross-Realm main AH and Realm-wide AH would solve it. Turn the Neutral AH's to realm-wide only, so people can do the whole 'switching faction' thing still.

Creating a CRAH would permit low-level craftables to be useful on the AH as newer realms with new players would then have access to a wide range of items and it would render old craftables useful again.

Monopolies would be as plausible as they are now, just more expensive, which they ought to be, and local trading still exists.

A Cross Realm AH would be good.

Merging Auction Houses means the chances of you selling something will plummet. We already had the price of Windwool Cloth drop so low due to the amount on the Auction Houses, with this everything will drop to being worth hardly anything. Merging Low Population (around four or so, bring each merged server in line with medium servers) servers is still the best way to fix dead realms, it allows the merged realm to have an atmosphere and guilds, a community and a bustling trade system.

Guessed wrong I'm afraid. From a Blizzard Game Director and developer called Tom Chilton

Cross-realm zones are definitely our first move toward improving the play experience for low-pop servers (or even medium population).

Beyond just the fact that the world will be more populated, the ability to make friends at the battle tag level (since that friendship level is cross-server) combined with the ability to do group content with those players represents a huge step forward in the ability for players on smaller servers to access a huge community to play with.

With regard to the auction house, I can imagine a future where we might decide to make auction houses cross-server. It's not something to jump into lightly, but there may be ways to design a cross-realm auction house that ensures a viable economy without getting "too big".

If the cross realm auction house had higher fees like the current neutral auction house, it would leave a purpose for the regular auction house.

Yes, because servers that were once high pop NEVER slowly ween down to ghost towns...."your choice" please...

And before you start with the "xfer to a high pop server" crap I pay 15 bucks a month and have paid that steadily for ~8 years I am not shilling out an extra 25 to get what I should be given for free. A healthily populated realm.

nb4reroll because I have. It doesn't nothing for my ~6 year main with all my cool toys or 3 alts. 100 bucks extra to move them all nty.

I would love CRAH. Sellers have way too much power in the current setup, with rich people creating monopolies just because they want 2 million gold instead of 1.5. With all of them fighting against each other it becomes a buyers market, where demand creates the prices, rather than the supplier.

One of the things people need to consider is the influence of goldsellers. Previously transfering between servers has been an impediment for them moving gold around. You are likely to be feeding them as everyone bows down to the bots.

It woould be nice if instead of trying to support the unbalanced servers they let develop they just had a go at organising populations with free or reduced transfers. People would then feel ok about repopulating realms.

Well, if you make the zones cross realm then make the auction house cross realm too. This way the resources aren't getting spread thinner then they already are, especially with low level stuff. The supply with low level ores and herbs is bad enough as it is, and it only gets worse when the few guys that actually farm that stuff have to compete with people from other realms.

    That would be awesome.

It will help economies on realms with low populations or with imbalanced factions.
It will help to get rid of resellers, aka "ah players" because they won't be able to corner markets.
Supply/demand ratio will remain the same, so prices won't change.

I think amount of bots might drop. Gold sellers won't have to create stash of gold on each realm.
The reason Stormwind park was completely destroyed was because the night elves there had the audacity to tell Khadgar that Boomkins are superior to Mages in every way. Deathwing just happened to be flying by.

Pretty messed up idea.. the demand/supply ratio will get screwed in a way that'll destroy every affected realm in terms of economy.

No, I like each server having their own economy and such, let it remain the way it is.

I think everyone on the dead realms would agree this is a good idea. If nothing else, just keep it to the low pop. realms. We could definitely use some fixing for our less than lacking AHs.

Yes. Gods yes. No more wildly fluctuating economies from server to server, just one constant free market. Beautiful.

No, it wouldn't destroy the economy; demand and supply would go up in equal amounts. It would be glorious. Anyone who's seen how the D3 AH works will know this can only be a good thing; I mean, you put something up to sell, and bam: sold 5 seconds later. Sometimes it doesn't even take that long.

People on low population servers would have a much better chance of making money than they currently do, which would be brilliant. Just... Yes. Please. Gief.

I'm all for linking the low population and faction imbalanced AH's together so that people aren't paying ridiculous amounts of gold for crap, but at the same time, allowing the high pop servers in on it only allows for those who've hoarded a million billion gold to control an even larger market.
