From what I read, you just get auto-kicked from group if you officially go AFK. I can't test it, just did a fresh install of Windows 8, haven't had a chance to add Rift back yet.

Maybe this will stop the dumb punk level 35's from votekicking me when I went to the bathroom. People are so worried about what other players do they obsess over it and contribute nothing to the group.

I can already tell you it runs wonderfully. I've had the RC build set up for months now, and never had any issues. Funny thing, this is the first time I haven't had a Rift install stop/fail due to Direct X. Downloadable updates kicked right in and grabbed all that extra DX stuff on its own. Underwhelming, but it's about time. Last night I was doing my IA daily with a 13 man group and only 3 of us were fighting anything while the rest were chillin at the bank. It was irritating. Glad to see Trion forcing people to actually do this shit as opposed to AFKing and grabbing free XP off of my hard work.

I never expected the five days of leeching awesomeness that I got.
From having a fresh level 50 with minimal effort of remote logging on to my home computer from work and hitting spacebar every couple of hours coupled with hitting '.' to rejoin the instant adventure should I have been kicked, I EARNED:
-Two source engines full of the second-best lesser essences ISS's and planarite could buy. One for tanking and one for DPS/barding.
-60 levels of planar attunement.
-400 platinum.
-Rescue Medic and Planar Sight
-60,000 planarite to kick off Storm Legion.
Not a bad deal!

Oh, if you're planarite capped I'd spend some on a PA boost not to waste any chances of getting more planarite before SL hits and you'll be getting it as soon as you start doing stuff in SL.
