I need help please

So i downloaded a sprite sheet to my computer and i wanted to bring it to paint so i made it default browser paint and now all my icon's are the normal paint icon's and in cannot launch anything. I even try'ed restoring the computer but it gave me the same error. "Paint cannot read this file.This is not a valid bitmap file or it's format is currently not supported" I have window's 7 and i need to fix this within a hour before my bro get's home can someone please help?

in teh start menu, on the right side, below control panel there is a menu option called "default programs" click that

paint should be in there, when you select it you will have two options:

1. Set this program as default

2. Choose defaults for this program

select number two, then uncheck everything but .BMP and click save

could be because you are not on an administrator account

My pc only has one account and the .bmp was not even checked should i make a check there?

Hit save? Maybe can i like uninstall paint or restore. I have been trying to restore but it dont work. And if i hit make it all default wont i still have the same problem?

What app were you using for image editing before you changed it?

Basically i just downloaded these sprite's(they were all separated 390 photo's in one file) and i went onto paint to bring some of the photos to paint to change the background but it wouldn't come up. So i right clicked on the image that i wanted and i hit make paint default browser and now all my icon's are the paint sign, i cannot go on anything, nor can i restore the pc
