    WoW needs moneysinks, though.

Old timers are loaded with gold, and they already have the mounts (and alts will have almost all of them, let alone pets). This is just a scheme for such players to depart from their reserve. Something similiar to the arena in Oblivion, bidding on gladiators.

But the tickets are going to be bothersome, as that gets to the age old problem of the haves and have nots. WoW just didn't need another version of the raiders vs dungeoneers infighting.
From the #1 Cata review on Amazon.com: "Blizzard's greatest misstep was blaming players instead of admitting their mistakes.
They've convinced half of the population that the other half are unskilled whiners, causing a permanent rift in the community."

It should be some sort of questline tbh
Solo questline....one that actually is a challenge, possibly even with a retry limit or a timer ("you can try this quest once a month" or "succeed because you can never try again").

Alternatively - if you get "Glorious!" (or a new similar achievement soloing, then you get an invite. Maybe some tough new silvers that you have to defeat solo.

Theres more than enough money sinks in wow atm what with all the vendor mounts and now the BMAH

hell why not have gambling in the brawlers guild that would surely be the ultimate money sink make it a real den of inequity with all sorts of vice

we dont need content to be gated behind gold it if it really needs to be gated then let it be gated behind quests

though my thoughts are just let the thing be open to everyone at launch have them both instanced (the org one is atm) and just have a maximum occupancy
